Displays and exhibitions are detailed and realistic, many of which are interactive. The Museum is ideal for both the curious child and learned adult, making it perfect for day out for the family. Don't miss seasonal exhibitions (the most recent one being Jurassic World which was very impressive). Be prepared to spend at least 2 to 3 hours to fully enjoy what the museum has to offer. They also have a cafe and souvenir shop.Tip: It gets really busy (sometimes chaotic!) during the school holidays so try a weekday morning during off-peak seasons for a more relaxed experience.
The place is the most popular exhibition of different forests, animals and the first human in Australian land. In my personal view, I love those showing things, especially there is a IMAX cinema at the ground floor, which is showed about natural things. That is so cool! I saw the Giant at there, it was so amazing! Although ye, you need to pay for the ticket, just trust me, u won't regret.
I really appreciate this place. Every area is a surprise and all the more stimulating when you turn the next corner. I loved every part of it. Nothing bored and there is a lot of interactive things to do. Even a beds to sleep on... I know! Amazing. Do visit if you are looking for something fun
Big, plenty to see and do. If you have the time it's worth seeing.
awesome takes time to enjoy
A good overview of Melbourne can be found in this museum. My favourite standing exhibition is of life in one of the inner city streets when it was a slum long ago - Little Lonsdale Street. The museum also has various temporary exhibitions and has hosted big name exhibits such as Tutankhamun. This is a brisk 20 minute walk from the CBD and you also can view the heritage Royal Exhibition and perhaps tie in with a visit to nearby Carlton's famous Lygon Street, a five minute walk from the museum.
The Melbourne Museum should really be called 'Melbourne's Natural History Museum'. It succeeds reasonably well at being full of taxidermied Australian animals and architecturally interesting - not something you can say about a lot of museums. Beyond this, there isn't much there. If you're come from abroad, leave this museum for the locals. There's no reason to travel across two oceans just to go to a museum that you probably have in you backyard. Save yourself the $10 if you're in the neighborhood and stroll the grounds of the beautiful attached gardens.
