For many years, this building has been the "Cuba Refugee Center", where Cuban political exiles gather for freedom. As a processing center, there are not only doctor inspections, but also other private services, but also provide information in other fields to the US government.
Free museum that showcases images of the history of those who fled Cuba. Wonderful building as well.
Explore remnants from the Cuban exodus at The Freedom Tower. On the first floor, an exhibition of artifacts from the first exiles is displayed. View old suitcases, hand made dresses, guayaberas (the typical linen, four-pocketed Cuban shirt) and, even, teddy bears, which comforted children on the voyage. There are many black and white photographs of the immigrants as well. They came to the Freedom Tower to be processed upon their arrival in Miami. On the upper floors of the tower, there are museums of art. One of my favorite pieces of cultural history is "The Sleep of Dream Producers Monsters" from Goya.
