We saw animals that we had only seen on TV. One of the best zoo we have ever been too anywhere in the country. We visited on Friday and were there from 11:30am to 4:30pm and we could not see all of it...
This zoo is huge and the animal enclosures are a really good size. We went during the week and there were hardly any people there. If you can afford to rent a bike, I would highly suggest doing that. ...

Bring your family to the Metro Miami Zoo for a great day filled with fun activities and interesting animals. The zoo features over 2,000 animals and over 100 exhibits, giving you the opportunity to observe the animals in natural settings. The extensive walkways make it easy for you to wander through the zoo at your own pace and enjoy beautiful plants between animal exhibits. If you bring small children, the Children’s Zoo even gives the little ones the opportunity to get up close and personal with many species in an educational environment.

One of the nicest zoos that I have been to. The animals are in a natural setting so that you feel that you are walking through a natural game reserve.
One of the best zoos in the country, was almost destroyed by Hurricane Andrew. They have done an incredible job rebuilding. Best to go when it's not so hot or the animals will be lethargic.
You should plan a whole day to fully explore Miami’s zoo. There is so much to see and do: The water play ground is a favorite with my kids, but there are also days when we don’t even make it so far, because we spend hours feeding the parakeets in their aviary. Plan to spend a little extra money on animal interactions. You can feed the giraffes and the rhinos or ride on a camel. In the summer month there is also a gigantic water slide. The bike rentals, which fit up to six people, are totally worth it, especially if you are here the first time Explore the zoo for 2 hours on wheels and than walk back to your favorite exhibitions.
The Miami Metro Zoo is the perfect way to spend a beautiful day with your family in Miami. Plenty of animals, exhibits, feed the giraffes, splash pad, bikes for rent, and paddle boats to take a leisurely ride around. It is a local treasure.
This wonderful zoo is home to over 1,200 plants and 2,000 animals, and is sure to pack an entire day of fun into your Miami trip! For families with your kids, they even have a Children’s Zoo within the park. The newest exhibit to open soon is Mission: Everglades, which will take a closer look at the vast grasslands that are home to many native Florida animals.
