Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Yarlung Zangbo, you are in the middle of autumn. With a total length of 504.6 kilometers and an average depth of 2268 meters, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the world's largest canyon. It is known as the "last human myth" and is regarded by scientists as "the keyhole that opens the door to the history of the earth." In the Tibetan language, Yaru refers to the sky from the sky. The autumn colors of
Yaluzang are very charming. Every year in late October, the golden and dark green leaves are intertwined, like a painting that attracts many photographers.
Today's weather is not ideal. After an afternoon, although I can't see the whole picture of Mount Kinabalu, I can still see the main peak of Mount Nanga Bawa. Waiting, just because it is worth it.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, the deepest canyon in the world, is called the last secret on the earth. It has both the harsh and cold of the Himalayas and the warmth of the Amazon River. When you visit the Grand Canyon with the scenic car, you will arrive first. In the Love Square, you can see that the distant Nanjia Bawa Peak is like a shy girl who is finally unveiled, and the huge triangular peaks are clearly visible. The height of 7782 meters in Nanga Bawa is also proud of the world. Geographers like to analyze the peculiarity of Nanga Bawa from a scientific point of view. The Tibetans think it is a holy place and call it "the mountain." "As a general tourist, I just sigh for the beauty of its masculine beauty. The peaks of the triangle are vigorous and powerful, and the king is demeanor."
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the formation of the Himalayas movement and the rushing of the river. After passing through two high valleys at an altitude of over 6,000 meters, it forms a peculiar U-shaped turn around the Nanga Bawa Peak, and the American branch. The Grand Canyon is exactly the same, but it is longer and deeper.
[Tips]
Transportation and tickets: The scenic spot is very large and there is no public transportation. So if you want to visit the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, you can only participate in the tour or chartered car. You can usually travel in Lhasa or Linzhi. The group, the group price generally includes tickets.
Diet: There are restaurants in the scenic spot, most of them are opened by Sichuanese. The taste is not bad
Note: Although the altitude is not too high, about 2880 meters, but after all, it is a plateau area, pay attention to high anti.
The mountains don't come to me, so I go to them
Sisters preparing to go to Tibet must make a good travel plan before setting off.
Tibet is really beautiful, with fewer tourists and many scenic spots open for free, so the cost of visiting Tibet this winter is really low.
My gear: suitcase + backpack
ID card, student card and other discount documents, as well as a border pass (the tour group will help with this), driving license (needed for self-driving). Warm fuzzy hat, hardshell jacket, down jacket, lightweight sports shoes, sunglasses, disposable bitter apricot kernels, face towels, travel-sized toiletries, emulsion, body lotion, sunscreen.
Rhodiola, glucose, cold medicine, power bank, charger, various snacks, and about 200 yuan in small change
My friend and I spent about 8 days in Tibet. We spent 6 days with a tour group visiting attractions outside Lhasa. We joined a local Tibetan travel agency's small group tour. It was an all-inclusive package, including accommodation, meals, driver, insurance, attraction tickets, drone aerial photography, oxygen, etc. Overall, it was very good; the driver was easy to talk to, and the others in the group were all around the same age and very friendly. There was a lot of time on the road, but everyone chatted and shared snacks together, and we also discussed photo poses for the next scenic spot. It's very suitable for someone like me. Well, if you're going with a group, you must ask about the other participants, really, being with people of the same age is more enjoyable.
Accommodation suggestion: Staying near Barkhor Street is indeed a very convenient choice, it's easy to get anywhere. Also, don't stay in hotels with diffuse oxygen supply; it's not necessary. If you really feel uncomfortable, just stay in one with oxygen supply. If you're on a tight budget, staying in a hostel is also a good choice, but you should look around more.
About altitude sickness: Stop aerobic exercise in advance, and don't get too excited when you first arrive in Lhasa, and you should be fine. Glucose, Snickers, and cola can help alleviate symptoms. Oxygen is available for sale in the city, 15-20 yuan is normal. Trains have diffuse oxygen supply available.
Other suggestions: It's really comfortable when the sun is out during the day, three layers of clothing are usually enough, but you need to add more in the morning and evening. Also, no matter when you come to Tibet, you must prepare warm clothing. A hat is definitely necessary.
The altitude of the Nyingchi line is lower, while the Everest line is higher. If your physical condition allows, you must go to Everest to see the sunrise on the golden mountain.
Beautiful spears piercing the sky
Beautiful spears piercing the sky||| Known as China's most beautiful mountain, I didn't think it was more beautiful than the Minya Konka and Yala peaks I had seen before coming here. But standing by the Yarlung Tsangpo River, I felt what it means to see spears piercing the sky. The unique shock of a 5000m elevation difference is unparalleled. Photos can't capture one-tenth of it.
If you really want to take pictures, consider

p7-p8 Darin Village (Village Entrance, Songzan)

Namcha Barwa Peak Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Seven magnificent and majestic snow-capped mountains within the territory of Tibet
The Roof of the World—the Tibetan Plateau, is not only home to the world's highest peak but also boasts a series of famous mountain ranges.
These mountains, like a backbone, set up the grandeur and vastness of the Tibetan Plateau, carrying people's hopes and blessings.
1, 🏔 Mount Everest (elevation 8848.86 meters)
It is the main peak of the Himalayas and the highest mountain in China and the world. In Tibetan, 'Zhumu' means 'goddess,' and 'Langma' means 'mother elephant,' which together signify 'Mother of the Earth.' Mount Everest has a giant pyramid shape, standing tall and majestic, reaching into the sky. As the world's highest peak, it attracts countless gazes. Its grandeur is imposing, draped in a thin veil of snow, resembling a celestial maiden.
2, 🏔 Mount Kailash (elevation 6656 meters)
It is the second highest peak of the Gangdise mountain range, with its snow-covered summit shining golden in the sunlight. Its pyramid-like shape is distinct from the surrounding peaks and is also considered a sacred mountain by devout followers.
3, 🏔 Mount Kula Kangri (elevation 7538 meters)
Located in Lhozhag County in the Shannan region of Tibet, it is known as one of the 'Four Great Sacred Mountains' of central Tibet. The entire snow mountain is composed of three peaks. Standing alongside Mount Kula Kangri are six peaks over 7000 meters high. From a distance, the peaks stand shoulder to shoulder, resembling a towering ice and snow barrier that reaches the sky.
4, 🏔 Namcha Barwa (elevation 7782 meters)
It is the highest mountain in Nyingchi, Tibet Autonomous Region. As the sacred site of Tibet's oldest Buddhist tradition, 'Yungdrung Bon,' it is known as the 'Father of Tibetan Mountains.' Its massive triangular peak is perennially snow-covered, shrouded in mist, and rarely reveals its true face, earning it the nickname 'Shy Girl Peak.'
5, 🏔 Shishapangma (elevation 8027 meters)
It is an 8000-meter peak entirely within Chinese territory. In Tibetan, Shishapangma means 'the weather is extremely cold, and the climate is harsh and variable,' but the Tibetan people praise it as an 'auspicious sacred mountain.' Its north slope has a glacier valley over 10 kilometers long, with a forest of ice towers shining like a 'crystal garden.' However, it is also covered with crisscrossing ice and snow crevasses and occasional massive ice and snow avalanches, making climbing extremely difficult.
6, 🏔 Mount Sajama (elevation 6956 meters)
Located in Yangxiu Township, Biru County, it has stood here for thousands of years, surrounded by mountains, with its main peak revered as the king of local sacred mountains. Its highest peak is 6556 meters, also known as 'Sapuganglaga,' and is one of the sacred mountains of the Bon religion in Tibetan Buddhism.
7, 🏔 Cho Oyu (elevation 8201 meters)
It is the sixth highest peak in the world, located on the border between China and Nepal in the Himalayas. 'Cho Oyu' in Tibetan means 'the great master.' Cho Oyu stands tall and mighty in the Himalayas. Cho Oyu has five main ridges, and its mountain is perennially snow-covered, surrounded by snow peaks, with layers of mountains presenting a spectacular view.
Let's appreciate the photos of the snow-capped mountains taken by friends who travel to Tibet! 🏔
It is said that seeing the sunrise over Mount Namjagbarwa will bring you luck for a whole year
It is said that seeing the sunrise over Mount Namjagbarwa will bring you luck for a whole year.
Mount Namjagbarwa
Whenever the clouds and fog disperse
The soft sunset spills over the white snow-capped mountains, and the mountains instantly put on a new outfit of glittering gold
This scene is dreamlike, who wouldn't exclaim a few words after seeing it
I think, friends who have seen the sunrise over the mountains must have unforgettable memories for a lifetime!
But Mount Namjagbarwa is also known as the 'Shy Girl Peak', the mountain is often shrouded in clouds and fog
Whether you can see the clouds disperse and the sunset glow falls, it depends on your luck
Mount Namjagbarwa is located in the Nyingchi region, it is the 15th highest peak in the world
From December to February of the following year, the probability of seeing the sunrise over Mount Namjagbarwa is relatively high
Tibet in Winter: A Quietly Beautiful Poem of the Snowy Plateau
When the hustle and bustle of summer settles, winter in Tibet is like a serene fairy, gently lifting her veil. At this time, she sheds the hustle and bustle, leaving only purity and tranquility. Every inch of land is filled with a deep cultural charm, and every breeze is blowing the beautiful natural scenery.
In Lhasa in winter, the sun is soft and warm, sprinkled on the golden roof of the Jokhang Temple, like golden tassels gently swaying. The Tibetan aunts at the street corner, turning the prayer wheels in their hands, chanting ancient scriptures, their figures in the winter sun are particularly peaceful and auspicious, becoming the most touching scenery line of this city.
Stepping into Nyingchi is like stepping into a world of ice and snow fairy tales. The Namjagbarwa Peak is more majestic and mysterious under the winter sun, and the Lulang Forest at the foot of the mountain is dressed in silver, like a splash-ink landscape painting. Here, you can listen to the sound of snow falling, feel the magic and beauty of nature, and also sit around the stove with Tibetan compatriots, sharing their stories and laughter.
In winter in Tibet, there are many hidden beauties waiting for you to discover. The grasslands of Nagqu are more vast and desolate in winter, the surface of Yang Lake ripples in the cold wind, and the sacred mountains and lakes of Ali shine with mysterious light under the winter sun. No matter where you go, you can feel the deep cultural heritage and natural beauty of this land.
In this season, Tibet shows her beauty and mystery to the fullest. There is no hustle and bustle here, only peace and harmony. Stepping into winter in Tibet is like stepping into a world full of poetry and dreams, which makes people intoxicated and linger.

Suosong Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Namchabarwa, hardest to see the panorama
Namchabarwa is the highest mountain in Nyingchi City, Tibet, peak at 7,782 meters, and has the title of Father of Tibetan Mountains. The body of Nanga Bawa is covered with snow all year round and the clouds are lingering. It never reveals its true face easily, so it is also called Shy Girl Mountain in Chinese. We were really lucky this time. In the evening, the mountain peaks were still clouded and misty. When the sun set at 8:07 pm in the evening, all the clouds and mist were dispersed. We even saw the magnificent sight of that the golden sun shines on the mountain. It is said that this mountain range is like a girl lying down, from right to left are her head, chest and feet. The best view point is in Suosong Village in the Yarlung Zangbo River Gorge. There is a milk tea shop in the village. We just drank milk tea and watched all the mountains exposed. It was so shocking!

Milin Songzan Nangar Bawa Mountain Residence Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Living in the Songzan Nanjia Bawa Mountain | Second brush luxury hotel in the Grand Canyon
Second brush luxury hotel in the Grand Canyon.
The second time I came to Songzan Nanjia Bawa Mountain, the feeling is still very shocking. The surging Yashou Yarlung Zangbo River here has created the deepest and longest canyon on earth - Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. From the perennial snow in the mountains to the dense forest in the valley, the rich vertical natural belt has created a rare paradise for animals and plants in the world. When we arrived at the hotel, we were surprised to find that the hotel had prepared a small welcome ceremony for us, which was very touching...
The hotel is located in a small village with only 20 households in the depths of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, Dalin Village. The mysterious Songzan Nanjia Bawa Mountain Hotel is located on the hillside behind the village. The hotel faces the Nanjia Bawa Peak, which is known as the most beautiful snow mountain in China, and the village and farmland at the foot of the mountain.
Hotel facilities The Songzan Nanjia Bawa Mountain Hotel has a total of 33 guest rooms, including 27 deluxe rooms, 2 superior suites, 1 family room, and 3 Nanjia Bawa deluxe suites with an area of 49-195 square meters. The hotel also has a restaurant, SPA, coffee bar, study room and other supporting facilities. All guest rooms and public areas of the hotel can face the majestic Nanjia Bawa Peak without any obstruction. When you wake up in the morning and push open the large floor-to-ceiling windows of the hotel room, the fragrance of the countryside and the beautiful scenery of the distant Nanjia Bawa snow mountain come to your face.
Hotel catering and activities At the Songzan Nanjia Bawa Mountain Hotel, three meals a day, including afternoon tea, have many Tibetan delicacies, especially the braised pork with black truffle, which is made from Tibetan elephant pig. The taste is unforgettable after one bite. Think about it, this is next to the village in the deepest part of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. Songzan really made the luxury hotel to the extreme...
This time our butler also arranged to go to the Nanjia Bawa camp, which is another kind of feeling experience that will be written in another article...
The main peak of Nanjia Bawa Snow Mountain is also a very rare sacred view. We saw the panorama at the Sejila Mountain Pass this time, but it was difficult to see its full view when staying in the hotel for two days. When we left on the last day, it started to snow heavily. The white scene is another kind of scenery...
A must-stay hotel in this life - Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence
I have never seen the full view of Namjagbarwa, and I was a bit disappointed in my heart. I entered Tibet again with a clear goal, which was to go to Namjagbarwa. I stayed in Dalin Village and Suosong Village for two days without seeing it. It's just a lack of some luck.
I missed Namjagbarwa, but I met the most beautiful village, Dalin Village, here. It's a place like a paradise, where there is a hotel I like, Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence.
At first, it was because of a photo. The full view of Namjagbarwa was seen from the room. Because of that photo, I planted grass in my heart and silently told myself that I must plan this trip in the future.
Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence is the best I feel in a row of Songzan where I live. The hotel lobby is separated by an automatic door. When you approach it, it is another world, as if you have opened the key to the secret door.
When checking in, the housekeeper prepared ginger tea, snacks, and offered Hada. It is also the only one of the four Songzan hotels I have stayed in along the way that prepares Hada for guests and greets them with a smile and says a Tashi Delek.
When the car drove into this isolated village, seeing the beautiful peach blossoms and this building of the mountain residence, and after checking in, my friends and I were all excited, thinking that this place is too beautiful, and also silently praying for the weather to get better soon.
Simple things become art and scenery, probably just need to move diligent hands, I really like this kind of flower arrangement with artistic conception.
The room I stayed in faces the snow mountain, the room area is about 50 square meters, there is a living room, and it is very spacious. The hotel design is also thoughtful. The room glass is folding type. When the weather is good, it is fully opened, and the visual impact is very strong.
It was just lunch time when I arrived at the hotel. My friend and I ordered a two-person set meal. The price was a bit expensive. The chef made what to eat. I didn't like this set meal operation mode. Some dishes may not necessarily be liked by guests. Although the taste of the dishes is okay, the price of the restaurant scenery is greater than the price of the set meal.
One of the biggest features of Songzan is that every Songzan provides free afternoon tea for hotel guests. The afternoon tea variety of Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence is richer and better than other Songzans in terms of afternoon tea production.
Looking at the scenery on the sofa in the room, a couple walked into my scenery. This is probably the most romantic picture. They just sat there quietly looking at the snow mountain. The two people together, sometimes not saying anything, just sitting there quietly, is also a lubricant to enhance feelings. The one who loves you will definitely not let you miss such a charming scenery.
Finally, make a wish in my heart. When I meet you next time, I can see your true face. Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence can enter your list of must-stay hotels in this life.

💰Average Consumption: 1858 yuan/room
📌Small Tips:
The hotel is located in Dalin Village, and Dalin in Tibetan means "horse field". This is a secluded village bathed in the divine light of Namjagbarwa in the depths of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon.
Every window of the hotel is the best place to appreciate Namjagbarwa. Every day, you can immerse yourself in the natural return to inner peace.
Each window is a tribute to the majestic figure of Namjagbarwa: looking out from the mountain residence at an altitude of 3150 meters, rushing forward along the flat and open barley field like an airport runway, suddenly vertically climbing at the foot of the not far mountain, reaching the top of Namjagbarwa at an altitude of 7782 meters, the giant mountain body panorama unobstructed across the front.
The huge drop of 4600 meters brings not only visual shock, but also a soul-stirring impact.
At Songzan Namjagbarwa Mountain Residence, you can simultaneously include all the peaks of the entire Namjagbarwa mountain system, as well as Jialabailei Peak, into your sight. Looking up at the sacred mountain, what makes people dizzy is not only the oppressive feeling close at hand, but also the extremely clear rock body and snow line veins.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to the lobby, restaurant, and conference room, the bar and split-level book bar on the third floor of the main building will be another highlight worth looking forward to. The two-story high bookshelf next to the stairs creates an ideal reading space. Have a cup of fragrant tea, in front of you can be Namjagbarwa Peak, or "Walden Lake", in the place closest to nature, through the senses and reading, return to the inner peace and joy, feel the romance of breathing with nature.

Every year from March to April, most parts of Tibet are still wrapped in the cold winter, but Linzhi quietly becomes beautiful. Here, the mountains are filled with pink peach blossoms, as if expressing an irrepressible longing for gentleness. It turns out that the ritual sense of spring is given by Linzhi.

Experience Review:
Spring in Tibet starts from Linzhi, and the spring of Linzhi starts from peach blossoms. Peach blossoms can be found everywhere in the country, but the peach blossoms in Tibet are unsurpassable.
Travel Feelings:
The worldly years are full of fragrance, and the peach blossoms in the mountain temple begin to bloom. Walking in the peach blossom valley, the peach blossoms on both sides are vying for beauty, and the sporadic houses of a few families are interspersed with them, adding a bit of worldly atmosphere to this otherworldly peach grove.
