We were from Minnesota, had a good autumn weather and had travelled to Missouri. We went to Lower Hattonka State Park, one of our favorite parks we have been to. The castle and other ruins are really cool, the whole park has scenic trails and views. There are many paved/mounted hiking trails and rugged natural trails in the park. The natural bridges are beautiful and the hikes on the island are cool. We spent a whole day in this park and may have stayed here longer.

Each park has one or two attractions that can be reached by itself, and the story of the mountains and lakes is the beauty of these parks. The simple summary is the beautiful peaks, colorful water, plus the upright pine and fir, which are different combinations.
