Marienplatz Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
@ MARIENPLATZ, MUNICH.
Marienplatz (English: Mary's Square, i.e. St. Mary, Our Lady's Square) is a central square in the city centre of Munich, Germany. It has been the city's main square since 1158.
During the Middle Ages, markets and tournaments were held in the Marienplatz, which was originally called Markth ("market"), Schranne ("grain market") and later Schrannenplatz ("grain market square"). After said grain market was moved into the modern glass-and-iron Schranne near "Blumenstrasse" in 1853, the square received its new name, starting 9 October 1854.

Christmas Market in Munich, Germany 🇩🇪
The municipal Munich Christmas Market (Münchner Christkindlmarkt) will take place from Monday, November 27 to Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Marienplatz and Rindermarkt. The traditional Christmas market is an event of the Department of Labor and Economic Affairs (RAW) of the City of Munich.
Since 1972, the original Munich Christkindlmarkt, which dates back to the 14th century, has been held on Marienplatz. After a two-year Corona break, 135 merchandise and gastronomy stalls were back at the market in 2022. The program included Advent music from the town hall balcony, the Krampuslauf or the Himmelswerkstatt for children.
The heavenly workshop Himmelswerkstatt for children aged six to twelve is a little paradise for young craftspeople – crafting fun for free is the name of the game here. At the Krampuslauf (Krampus run), there is no need to be afraid of the creepy creatures and shaggy fellows. Every day, live Bavarian Stubenmusik (traditional folk music), brass bands and choirs set the mood for the Advent season from the town hall balcony. If you want to learn more about the history of the Christkindlmarkt, you can book a guided tour of the Christkindlmarkt at Marienplatz.
Venue: Around Marienplatz (main square) and in the Fußgängerzone (pedestrian street)
Date: 27 November to 24 December, 2023
Mulled wine 🍷 is always a MUST in Xmas Market !! 🎄

Christmas Market At Marienplatz
We travelled to Munich when we were travelling last December to Europe. It was the Christmas festive season and thus we wanted to visit a Christmas Market. Thus, what better place to visit than the one at Marienplatz. The market was quite big and have beautiful decorations and a big spectacular Christmas Tree. The majestic buildinga around it made the place look even more beautiful.
Marienplatz Central Square Munich Germany
Visited Marienplatz which is Mary’s Square in English. It is located in the city centre of Munich Germany. This new city hall was built between 1867 and 1909 with old looking neo-Gothic style. The old city hall is to the east in the direction of the valley which is almost 400 years old. Their Lord Mayor, city council and city administration has been residing in the new city hall. This is good starting point for a visit to the Bavarian capital. There are many stores and restaurants around Marienplatz. It is a major attraction if you are visiting Munich.

Walk inside the magnificent palace at Munich, Residenz München, and admire the valuable treasures.
The net red card in Munich, Germany is hidden in the palace? !
Munich Palace Mnchen Residenz Located in the old town, the Munich Palace is connected by 10 large and small irregular courtyard buildings. Its really an ordinary municipal building, one that doesnt pay attention, you may miss even the entrance. But there is an unexpected luxury inside the palace, which records the trajectories of the emperors living here, and also witnessed the glorious history of Bavaria from 1385 to 1918.
.
There are two routes in the tour, one is short and one is long. For the sight control like me, it is definitely the longest route to choose. Because of this, I have been lost in it for a long time, because there are so many rooms in the Munich Palace, and some rooms are not open, so you will walk around the road, sometimes you can't find the direction when you walk. .
.
There is a hall in the palace called: Antiquarium (The Hall of Antiquities), which is now the red dot in the red ins, because it is really super nice to take pictures, you can refer to the bag Let's take a photo.

Nymphenburg Palace Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
THE GLORIOUS NYMPHENBURG PALACE, MUNICH.
This glorious Baroque and Rococo palace, the largest in Germany, grew in size and scope over more than 200 years. Begun in 1662 by the Italian architect Agostino Barelli, it was completed by his successor, Enrico Zuccalli.
It represents a tremendous high point of Italian cultural influence, in what is undoubtedly Germany's most Italian city.
Within the original building, now the central axis of the palace complex, is the magnificent Steinerner Saal (Great hall), extending over two floors and richly decorated with stucco and grandiose frescoes by masters such as François Cuvilliés the Elder and Johann Baptist Zimmermann.
One of the surrounding royal chambers houses Ludwig I's famous Schönheitsgalerie (Gallery of Beauties), portraits of women who caught his roving eye. The palace park is laid out in formal French style, with low hedges and gravel walks extending into woodland. Among the ancient trees are three fascinating pavilions, including the Amalienburg hunting lodge by François Cuvilliés.

Schloss Nymphenburg Palace in Munich
Travelled dates btw 8-16 July 2023. There are many old towns, ruined Castle, Palace and Car Museums to visit in Germany. Most interesting places for me are: Heidelberg, Baden Baden and Munich. There is a Must visit palace in Munich not to miss, Schloss Nymphenburg Palace. The palace is huge and would need at least a day to take a slow relaxing walk to enjoy the entire place. Took a hop-on-off city tour bus which had brought us there within 20-30 mins.
One of the largest Palaces in Germany
You have to go early to visit this huge palace to avoid the crowds. It is about a good 10 min walk from the nearest train station. While walking towards the palace, you will come across a huge lake with lots of swans and ducks. The palace is huge and you may spent a good 2 hours touring the whole place.
The entrance fee is around euro 10. There is also souvenir shop selling some palace china ware.

Built as a summer residence for the Wittelsbach family, Schloss Nymphenburg is an elegant Baroque palace surrounded by beautiful gardens.
The enormous garden surrounding the Palace, which spreads over 200 hectares (490 acres), has been laid out in different design according to fashions over the years. A visit to this castle must include the magnificent "Great Hall" redesigned in the Rococo style. Today another of the main attractions is the "Gallery of Beauties", with its portraits painted from 1827 to 1850 for King Ludwig I by Joseph Stieler. The tour of Nymphenburg Palace also includes the bedroom where King Ludwig II of Bavaria was born on 25 August 1845.
