Things To Do in Nairobi

Giraffe Centre

Nature Reserve
E27***92We visited in February, it was a great experience! Entry for foreigners costs 1500 KSH and they do NOT accept cash. You can feed the giraffes food pellets and they are very inquisitive. They're soft to touch! There are also warthogs running around them. We happened to be there when a guy gave an educational talk about the different species of giraffes, very interesting.
Nairobi National Park

National Park
Nomadic by NatureLions, leopards, hippos, rhinos, and more running around, and the park is located right in the city. It is literally like having a savannah neighborhood in the city. Wild view-scapes of herds of animals with skyscrapers in the background. Go early in the morning (arrive around 6am) for the cats and other nocturnal wildlife, or in the afternoon arriving around 4pm for the dusk. Get a group together and hire a car.

E22***02the museum is very interesting , the room explaining about the animals is amazing , with real size réplicas of elephant , giraffe , lion , zebra etc staff is very friendly and I recommend you take the offer , for a small amount , to have a community guide to explain to you with details about Kenya history.

Burberry_is_KingKaren House is very good. But before you go, you have to watch the movie "Out of Africa". If you are surrounded by blue sky, white clouds, greenery, tall trees, and red houses, you can't help but feel the thoughts. It seems that you can touch the courage and love of Karen's powerful woman. The tour takes 1 hour. Watching a movie first, going out of Africa, and then coming here to experience Karen's boundless love, tenacity and character, will enhance our motivation in life.
Lake Bogoria

Nature Reserve
Tiramisu8511To approach Lake Bogoria, you need to pass through a mud swamp, with large swamps of flamingos roosting and hovering in front of you, and the formation is spectacular. Lake Boglia is a very shallow lake. The clear water reflects the beautiful figure of flamingos. The entire lake is dyed pink, like colorful clouds falling in the green mountains and green water. A breeze with a faintly salty taste blew across our face, set against the gentle sunlight, the flamingos chirping in the lake water, we dared not speak loudly, for fear of disturbing their nap.

Nairobi Travel Tips

About Nairobi

Nairobi (which means cool water in the Maasai language) was founded in 1899 as a railway camp. Today it is quite westernized, one of Africa's major cities (and the U.N.'s fourth World Centre) and is the capital of Kenya. Rapid development has created a buzzing commercial atmosphere which necessitates holding your wits about you to avoid purse snatchers and the like. The National Museum offers some interesting education, but most travellers pass through Nairobi as a gateway to the National Parks and wildlife encounter/safari experience which are just outside the city.
