Photos of San Francesco di Paola

The Church of St. Francis of Paolo is located on the west side of Piazza Prebiscito, the larger square in Naples, and is a Catholic church. This church is famous for imitating the Pantheon in Rome. The main hall is a circular dome building with exquisite frescoes, which symbolize the majesty of the sky and the universe. The church was built at the beginning of the 19th century by Joachim Murat, king of the Bonaparte family who ruled Naples, who planned the square and its buildings to be dedicated to Napoleon. After the fall of Napoleon and the restoration of the Bourbon dynasty, Ferdinand IV continued to complete the building, but after it was completed in 1816, it belonged to the church and was dedicated to Paul St. Francis, who was a monk here in the 16th century, and named after him to this day. Standing in front of the cathedral, you can feel its magnificent and broad momentum.
