Naqu Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Sapushen Mountain Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A sacred mountain in Tibet offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains and glaciers in winter
Location: Mount Sapu
💰Average cost:
The ticket price is 150 yuan per person, half price for students (available on Xue Xin Wang), and you need to bring your ID.
👍Most recommended:
It is recommended to stay in Yangxiu Township. There is a hotel with a good environment in the township government, about forty minutes away from Mount Sapu.
If you choose to stay in the scenic area, after buying the ticket and entering, go straight to the bus stop. The bus runs every half an hour. It takes about ten minutes to get to the outer lake by bus. There are two guesthouses at the drop-off point, which are dormitory-style, and the beds are relatively small, 100 yuan per person.
If you choose to camp, the outer lake is a good choice. The internet-famous bridge is also near the drop-off point of the outer lake. Secondly, don't bring food with a strong smell, it will attract bears.
🌟Highlights:
The inner lake is more spectacular, the scenery is much better than the outer lake, there are also two guesthouses, you can see more snow-capped mountains, black soil and blue lake water, giving you the illusion of being in the North and South Poles.
🗓Itinerary:
The internet-famous bridge is about a hundred meters to the left of the drop-off point, but the slope is very steep, it is recommended to walk a few more steps forward to bypass it. Secondly, the shooting angle of the internet-famous bridge is limited, it is more recommended to find an angle on the iron bridge above the internet-famous bridge.
From this direction, continue to walk up the mountain to the inner lake, about five kilometers of mountain road, the altitude is nearly five thousand meters, people with good physical strength can try hiking.
If you don't want to hike, there will also be local villagers at the drop-off point of the outer lake who will drive you into the inner lake for a fee of 100 yuan per person, free for the elderly, and you can bargain. It's about a twelve-minute journey, round trip.
After they take you to the inner lake, they will wait for you at the original place (if you don't go far). Walk straight into the inner lake, cross the bridge, and there is a ridge ahead. It's a great place for photos, but there are few glaciers.
📝Tips:
If you want to see the glaciers alone, it is not recommended to go in. Because there are many dogs and bears inside, be careful not to get close.
Sapushan Mountain Nanny-level Guide
Ticket: 150/person, valid for three days. Includes round-trip sightseeing car fare from the scenic area parking lot to the Outer Lake (about 10 minutes). The road from Outer Lake to Inner Lake is under construction and is currently not allowed for self-driving.
Tour route:
1. The average altitude of Sapushan Mountain is about 4400 meters. If you are not in good physical condition, you can stroll around the Outer Lake and take photos at the popular wooden bridge.
2. You can walk to the Inner Lake along the left side of the Outer Lake, watch the sacred mountain up close, and feel completely different from the Outer Lake. The one-way journey is about 5 kilometers, takes about 1.5 hours, is beginner-friendly, and there are many small mice and ground squirrels to feed along the way. Walking inside to avoid the crowd for photos is also very beautiful.
3. After reaching the Inner Lake, there are other hiking routes. You can go around the lake (if the lake is frozen in winter, you are lucky to enter the blue ice glacier cave), go to the temple Sapulakang under the snow mountain (I love it), and the small ice lake under the feet of Princess Sapu. But these routes are at a higher altitude, with many slopes, so you need to measure your strength.
Accommodation: Stay in a homestay in Yangxiu Township, the closest to Sapushan Mountain, the night before. You can see bears, very close only a dozen meters away, do not go out at night; you can also choose to stay in the county town, about 3 hours drive to Sapushan Mountain, you need to arrange your time. There are 3 places to stay in the Inner Lake of Sapushan Mountain, all of which are large beds in the style of herders' homes at 100/person, the environment is simple, and there is no signal in the house, and washing is a bit troublesome.
1. Wear a thick coat when entering the mountain, as the temperature difference between day and night is large. If you are hiking, it is best to wear waterproof shoes, as there are some places with standing water and small streams on the road.
2. If you want to stay in the Inner Lake, bring dry food!! The accommodation conditions in the Inner Lake are limited, the herders' Chinese is not very good, communication is not very smooth, and the food is basically instant noodles. I stayed in Sapushan Mountain for three days and stayed in the Inner Lake for two days. I saw the sacred mountain in cloudy, rainy, snowy and sunny days, which is quite satisfactory.
I went to the temple at the foot of the snow mountain -- Sapulakang in the afternoon of the first day. There are basically no tourists going up to this small temple. We learned about this road from two Tibetans who were delivering supplies up the mountain (if you want to offer some incense money, bring some change, there is no QR code payment here).
It took forty to fifty minutes to climb the mountain. The temple keeper on the mountain was really nice. Seeing that we were tired, he poured us butter tea, ate cakes and milk residue, and taught us how to say these in Tibetan. After eating, we sunbathed on the back mountain with the temple keeper. The sun was warm on our bodies, and our whole soul could calm down.
Only after seeing the beauty of Tibet do you feel that the world is worth it (with guide)

Mount Sapo
Sapo, named after the snow leopard, means 'deep in the snow leopard gorge'. The main peak is revered as the king of the local sacred mountains, with the highest peak reaching 6956 meters. It is one of the sacred mountains in Tibetan Buddhism's Bon religion, and the highest peak in eastern Tibet. Located in Biru County, Nagqu, Tibet, there are 12 peaks surrounding the main peak. Every midsummer, the top of Mount Sapo is covered with snow and shrouded in mist, while the foot of the mountain is filled with colorful flowers, lush grass, and abundant water plants. Due to the melting of the snow and ice, a mirror-like lake has formed at the foot of Mount Sapo. The 'glacier + sacred lake' scenery attracts more and more tourists. There is a certain risk for vehicles to enter, especially deep into the lake, where the mountain road is extremely dangerous. Moreover, the altitude is high, the facilities are very simple, and it is said that there are black bears active, so people dare not go far to the toilet at night. And there is only one large room, where men and women have to live together, with one bed per person, which can accommodate about twenty people. But the scenery is really good.

Glacier in Bujia Snow Mountain Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Day 8 in the collection
January 8: Buga Snow Mountain, Glacier
Buga Snow Mountain (Glacier) is located in the Yuxiong natural village of Waduoga village (Three Villages), Rongbu Town. To the southeast of the snow mountain is the Buxiong Jiong Mountain rock and Gajiong Mountain Temple in Gangxing Township, Dingqing County; to the northeast is the Yongcuo Temple, to the west is Gexia Gang and Lazha Temple in Ya'an Town, Baqing County, and to the southwest is Rongbu Town in Suoxian County, and Xichang Township and Redeng Temple. The snow mountain is about 6328 meters above sea level and is one of the seven sacred mountains of Tibet.
On January 12, 2016, the China Geographical Landscape Great Discovery scientific expedition team discovered five fully developed giant hanging glaciers on Buga Snow Mountain at the junction of Dingqing, Baqing, and Suoxian counties in Changdu City, Tibet. The longest of these hanging glaciers stretches from the peak of Buga Snow Mountain to the moraine lake at an altitude of over 4200 meters, with a drop of more than 2100 meters. The Rongrong Glacier cascades down from the 6328-meter peak of Buga Snow Mountain, forming a hanging glacier body with a slope of about 70 degrees.
Today, we visited the Yuexiong Glacier and the Zuxuehui Glacier from the southern slope.
The off-the-beaten-path glacier you've never been to
🌟Highlight: A glacier that can be closely approached 4 hours away from Zizhu Temple in Naqu. Bujia Snow Mountain has developed seven or eight glaciers, which slowly spread down along the mountain gully. As the temperature rises in summer, the glacier flows downwards, cutting the mountain and bringing out mud and stones, turning the blue glacier into coffee color.
📍Detailed address: Two of the Bujia glaciers that have been opened are 20km apart, one is called Yoxiong (belonging to Baqing, navigation: Bujia Snow Mountain Glacier), and the other is called Qiongxiong (belonging to Suoxian, navigation: Bujia Glacier Qiongxiong Gou Scenic Area), tickets need to be purchased separately.
💕Qiongxiong Scenic Area has built wooden plank roads and parking lots, with fewer people, and the glacier is washed into a lotus shape which is more beautiful. There are many people in Yoxiong, and cars are parked randomly. There are beautiful alpine grassland scenery in front of both glaciers. The roads near the glaciers are all gravel roads.
💰Ticket: Yoxiong 25/person, 10/car. Qiongxiong 15/person, 0/car.
🗓Itinerary: Both glaciers can be visited within a day. It was drizzling on the glacier the day we went, which greatly reduced the scenery. Before arriving at Baqing Yaan Town, we took very beautiful and original photos of dusk smoke + felt room, but we still need light.
📝Note tips: The glacier is the earth's temperature regulator, we must definitely cherish the natural environment and protect animals and plants.
2024 Tibet North Ring Line: Step into the Bogda Glacier
Bujia Snow Mountain is the general term for a group of snow peaks in Dingqing, and Bogda Glacier is the most accessible among them.
The drive from Suo County to Bogda Glacier is 2.5 hours, and no one collects tickets in winter.
The glacier is 5 kilometers long, extending from an altitude of 6000 meters to 4200 meters, below is the moraine lake, with a width of about 150 meters, frozen in winter, conducive to walking close to the glacier tongue, and thawing into a green lake in summer.
Start walking from the parking lot, watch the full view of the glacier, go down to the ice lake, the snow is 5 to 10 centimeters deep, walk to the bottom of the glacier tongue in 30 minutes, and touch the magnificent glacier at zero distance!
The glacier seen from the opposite side of the ice lake is small, and when you get closer, you realize how insignificant humans are.
Unfortunately, the mountain road to the top of the glacier is frozen and cannot be walked on.
Retreat to the parking lot and head to Dingqing County, which takes nearly 4 hours.
The team leader's aerial photography is too cool!

Dangre Yongcuo | The lake also has a "dopamine outfit"
The lake also has a "dopamine outfit". Dangre Yongcuo is the fourth largest lake in Tibet, running from north to south, surrounded by mountains on three sides. It once nurtured the ancient Xiangxiong civilization and is regarded as a sacred place by the followers of the oldest Bon religion in Tibet. Every year, many believers come here to circumambulate the lake.
Due to the weather, I didn't stay at Dangre Yongcuo for a long time, but in a short time, I was full of curiosity about this lake.
The color of the lake is not a single blue, but also pink and yellow. The three colors appear on the lake at the same time, which looks beautiful and fresh, and makes people feel incredible. I am curious about how pink and yellow are produced and how they are integrated with each other.
When I was doubtful, a flock of sheep broke into the lens. Although I have encountered flocks of sheep many times, their lively and cute appearance still makes people can't help but press the shutter a few more times.
📍Location: Nima County, Naqu City, Tibet
💰Ticket: Free
🚗How to get there: You need to drive/charter a car to get there, navigate to "Dangre Yongcuo". The shooting location of the photo is at the intersection of S205 and the small road to Wenbunan Village. If you want to go to Wenbunan Village from here, it is recommended to choose a four-wheel drive vehicle, non-paved dirt road, easy to trap the car

2023-10-05 Had a Tibetan breakfast and then went to Dangre Yongcuo. The weather was very good, the sun was shining, and the temperature was a bit low, probably around zero degrees. First passed Dangre Yongcuo and then arrived at Dangqiong Cuo. Dangqiong Cuo is super beautiful and there are rare black-necked cranes.
In the afternoon, we arrived at Dangre Yongcuo. Dangre Yongcuo is the deepest lake in Tibet. It seems to be embraced by half of the snow mountain. We walked along the 302 provincial road and passed several lakes such as Nanmu Cuo. In fact, all of them are along the Ali middle line. Around 7:30 we arrived at Coqen County. We looked for a camping spot along the way, but we couldn't find one. It was already very dark, so we slept in the car for the night.
Biru Skull Wall Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The small county town by the Nujiang River, with a vast territory, the snow mountain scenery is unforgettable
Tibet has always been called a mystery by people, because there are many places where few people set foot hidden on that vast plateau, because of the sparse population, they have preserved their most natural appearance.
Biru County in Nagqu is hidden in the valley of the upper reaches of the Nujiang River, built along the river, with steep mountain scenery on both sides. There are too many worth visiting spots in this county town, the most famous of which is of course the skull wall of Damu Temple in the western suburbs. This is the living fossil of the local 'sky burial' culture, with skulls piled into walls, to be honest, it was a bit creepy when I first went.
Sapu Mountain is located in Biru. This sacred mountain was discovered by donkey friends a few years ago, which attracted many tourists to explore. I especially like the lake water and meadows under the Sapu snow mountain, which gives people a feeling of paradise. It is said that there are primitive forests in the southeast of Biru County, but this trip was too hurried to go. Every visit to Nagqu is a new exploration in life, and I believe the next encounter will bring me more surprises.
The wall of Dam Temple is a wall made of human skulls. It is related to the celestial burial. There are very few people coming here. Some people are afraid of going to a lot of panic in the heart. A small temple is seen outside. Going up is very ordinary, there is no sense of story. The master of
Dum Temple opened the door for us. Usually there are very few people coming here, so the general door is closed. Only when there are people coming, the master will come over and open the door. The pedestrian is the one to go here. Simon's.
Open the door lock. In the small courtyard, the entire wall on the right hand side is covered with enamel, and the five-color prayer flags and some classics representing "the sky, the ground, the water, the fire, the wind" are hung directly opposite the wall. cloth.
Every foot here should be careful, can't go away, although the slate is not big, it shines brightly, although it can't see the traces of the knife and axe, but here is the last chopping board of the corpse during the burial, so it is best It is to get around here, don't step on it.
The large and small gimmicks on the wall, most of the lower skull are gone, the fragile nasal bones are eroded, leaving only the hard skull and sporadic teeth.
Going out of the wall, rows of cockroaches still appear in front of me, silent for a long time, in fact, these have not made me afraid, life, the grass and the autumn, we will come to this world, will eventually return to the silence, Where do you come from, where to go...
