The Hongmao City Historic Area generally refers to three buildings, including the main building of Hongmao City, the British Consulate and the South Gate. The main building of Hongmao City has been renovated several times by different users in Spain, the Netherlands, the Ming Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty and the United Kingdom. The preserved ancient building is a square pattern with deep foundation and thick walls. . There are four rooms on the ground floor of Hongmao City, two of which were used as prisons after the British were renovated. In the late Qing Dynasty, all the British who committed crimes in northern Taiwan were imprisoned here. The terrain of Hongmao City is steep, and many tourists will climb up the observation deck to overlook the Danshui River. Walking out of the road next to Hongmao City, you can see the ancient artillery area. On the right of the ancient artillery area is the British Consulate of the former Qing Dynasty. The facade of the corridor is a semi-circular arch, and the interior furniture is well preserved. The sofa, tea table, and gramophone make people feel like time is intertwined. The Tamkang Middle School and the Truth University near Hongmao City have a good environment and are also worth visiting attractions.
