The fireplace overflowing with white, melted wax! The service: One word, excellent. From greeting to suggestions to service the ambiance was easy-going, un-rushed (but not slow) and attentive. The food: Again, excellent. We shared starters that were tantalizing and unique, and then dug in to our respective mains, all of which were superb. &quot;Gnudi,&quot; a take on gnoochi, was rich without being cloying and perfect for the still cool, grey weather we had. It deserves to mention, separately, that I had one of the best, most authentic Irish Coffees I&#39;ve had, anywhere. Perfectly balanced and delicious on that cool day. The result: Added to the list for another visit. And with the subway nearby, easy to reach on the west side.

This pizza shop is located on Carmike Street in New York City&#39;s Soho District, opposite Demo Father&#39;s Square Park, so don&#39;t worry about the restaurant being difficult to find, because you can see people queuing just walking around the park, which is a good restaurant sign. This pizza restaurant is more than 40 years old, because the pizza is thin and crisp, the filling is delicious and the price is very cheap, and it is sought by local residents and tourists. Treatment at this restaurant was the worse I&#39;ve seen in years. We ordered a second bottle of wine that was not cheap. It drank awfully. That was agreed to by all 5 of us at the table. We sent it back (I maybe send one bottle or so a decade back). The restaurant insisted that there was nothing wrong with it and that they would stick us with the cost. I was willing to just continue and eat the cost but one of my friends insisted that they do something to compensate. Instead we were invited to leave. I found it a rather shocking and insulting experience. I would never go back. I have discussed the wine with a number of experts since they say it should have been much better and was probably incorrectly stored. Regardless there is absolutely no justification for how poorly we were treated. This is once a year or few years super bad taste in my mouth type of experience. I still cannot understand what transpired. It&#39;s a shame because the staff and the food were otherwise fine. Whoever runs the establishment is beyond obnoxious, perhaps they are having some financial difficulties.
