Reindeer appear, not just at Christmas.
Finland is the hometown of Santa Claus and also the homeland of reindeer. In the Lapland region of northern Finland, there is a small town called Inari. When you come to Inari, there are two things you must do: one is to go to Lake Inari to watch the aurora, and the other is to ride a reindeer sled to experience the long-standing Sami culture. The indigenous Sami people here have been hunting reindeer for a living since the Mesolithic era. Reindeer have almost provided them with everything they need for life: meat, warm fur, tents, and transportation. Modern Sami people live in the Lapland region, which spans four countries: Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Russia. There is still a small number of people who raise reindeer as their profession. During the season of reindeer migration, you can see a spectacular scene of a huge herd of reindeer crossing the snow. From October every year, Lapland enters a winter season that lasts for 8 months. The vast and continuous snowfall will cover the entire Lapland into a silver-white world. A reindeer sled is generally shared by two people. In addition to the guide leading the way at the front, the rest of the reindeer are tied to the front sled or led by passengers. In April, Inari holds a reindeer race. Unlike normal sled rides, participants ride on skis and are pulled by reindeer through the snow to the finish line, creating a lively scene at the competition site.
A hundred kilometers drive from Ivalo, Lake Inari can't bear to disturb the snow and white.
Night return, the northern lights of the window outside the night sky and the romantic dance together with the stars - see the best season of the Northern Lights, what are you waiting for?

Incredible place
Saariselka in Finland is the most amazing place you can see. snow and forest nature and adventure. amazing sky colors and amazing people. you can meet lovely husky around. completly in love with this place #mytripvlog #finland #travel Inspiration #fallingforfall
Old triangulation tower in Saariselka
If you happen to visit Saariselka in Finnish Lapland you definitely have to visit the Kaunispaa Fell that is situated next to the village.
The triangulation tower is situated right on top of the fell and it offers a good way to have a beautiful view to the surrounding fells and other mountains in the very North Finnish Lapland. I especially recommend going to see the midnight sun from the tower since during a clear summer night the sun can be clearly visible from the tower.
The tower was built in 2011 to replace the old similar tower that was built during 1950’s and destroyed in 2009. It was used by land surveyors who were able to see long distance from the tower that was situated significantly over the surrounding terrain at about 500 meters above the sea level.
You can access the tower from Saariselka center by car by taking the road called Kaunispaantie from the center of the village (north side) or by walking to the top off the fell. During the winter the top of the fell can also be accessed using ski lifts from the Saariselka village. There is no admission fee or tickets to the tower. It’s completely free of charge.

Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort - Igloos and Chalets Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
🇫🇮FINLAND‘s Best Saty🇫🇮
📌Location:
Saariselkä, within the Arctic Circle, is the birthplace of glass igloos. Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort pioneered this enchanting concept, allowing guests to watch the Northern Lights from the comfort of their beds. 💎💎
📍Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, Finland
🎨 A Canvas of Nature and Culture Unites
-This extraordinary resort holds the esteemed title of 'Cultural Landscape Resort' 🏆, an honor bestowed by National Geographic Magazine. Immerse yourself in:
🌐 360° Panoramic Domes:
Marvel at the world outside as the glass warms up, melting away the snowy wonderland.
🌌🌠Aurora Alarms in Every Room+ A Celestial Awakening🚨:
The alarm will ring out when the Aurora appears, and then you could behold this incredible night👀: green spirits gracefully dancing under a canopy of stars. To lie in a glass igloo bed and witness this celestial performance is nothing short of an extraordinary stroke of luck. 💚
🗺️Area Choose:
☀️East Village vs. West Village🎄
🧊East Village: Vintage Charm
- Vintage ambiance.
- Cozy and private.
- Some rooms may lack private bathrooms.
🧊West Village: Modern Grandeur
- Modern, stylish accommodations.
- Private restrooms in every igloo.
- Spectacular views.
- Abundance of room choices.
- Hub for thrilling activities like husky rides and reindeer sledding.
⬆️🔥Recommendation🔥: Opt for the 'West Village' for a modern, comfortable stay with a wider range of activities. 🌌
🧳 Luggage Handling🛄
Upon check-in, the hotel staff will efficiently transport your luggage directly to your room. For check-out, you'll have the novel experience of using a small cart to transport your belongings to the lobby, a fun and engaging process that takes around 5 minutes.
🚌Travel and Commute🚌
To reach Kakslauttanen, book your tickets through the Onnibus website at 💶38.9 euros. The journey typically spans from 09:07 to 12:13, covering a duration of 3 hours, running from the entrance of Santa Claus Village to Kakslauttanen Hotel's doorstep.
🔴 Valuable Tips🌠
1⃣️At this unique hotel, you can adjust your bed to optimize your Northern Lights viewing experience. 🛏️
2⃣️Given the limited daylight hours during winter (only 4 hours from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM), be sure to capture plenty of photos during this brief window. 📸
3⃣️The prime time for witnessing the Northern Lights in Finland is typically from December to January of the following year. 🌠
4⃣️For the best chance of spotting the Northern Lights, keep your eyes on the skies between 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM. 🌌

Winter @Kakslauttanen Artic Resort
Are you planning your upcoming winter trip to Finland? Kakslauttanen Artic Resort is one of the popular resorts in Saariselkä Fell region of Kakslauttanen, because Kakslauttanen is one of the world's best places for see the northern lights. The property is surrounded by nature and river, 6 km from Urho Kekkonen National Park and 37 km from Ivalo Airport.
This resort has several types of accommodations; the accommodation I booked is Kelo Glass Igloos, a chalet with a combination of glass igloos, the newest type of accommodation in this resort. This room can accommodate up to 6 people, with a big bathroom and has a private sauna, fireplace, kitchenette, and a stunning glass roof to see the aurora. The entire building, including the bed made by Kelo pinewood.
West Village Aurora Restaurant is the main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, it operates as an office for hotel check-in during wintertime, a meet-up place for a tour operator for activities, and a souvenir shop.
Although I didn't have the luck to see the Northern lights, my stay in this resort was fantastic and memorable.

The glass house of Saliscar has long been known, and one of the purposes of coming to Finland is to experience it. The hotel is divided into the east and west districts. The drive is separated by five minutes. Each district has its own cabin and glass house. We have a cabin and a glass house for each of the four people. The price of the cabin is about the glass house. Half of it, if you come here, I recommend staying in two room types for one night, because it is really different. Each cabin in
East is quite far apart and will not be disturbed at all. The whole house is stacked one by one with wood, and the house is also covered with wood, including the roof, bed frame and floor. The big bed room here is the only real big bed that I lived in Finland all the way down. The other hotel big bed rooms are made up of two single beds. The cabins are large, with sofas, kitchens and a separate sauna.
The glass room in the West District is very small, basically two single beds, a very mini bathroom, there is a toilet and a pool, but there is no bath, so for this time we chose another two People think that the cabin is quite sensible, so that you can take a bath at night, or you can put unused luggage there. After all, the baggage is dragged some distance, and it is muddy and uneven, and it is not very good.
Northern Lights Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A couple of years ago I had seen a few of my favorite content creators go on a photography trip to the northern part of Finland 🇫🇮 , also known as Lapland. This area which is part of the Arctic Circle, is known for its winter wonderland vibes and breathtaking sceneries expanding on vast areas. ❄️
This winter, I finally made it happen. I didn’t believe it could exceed my already very high expectations. But it did.
I am going to share my best shots from this Lapland trip this week. Here is the first few from the Northern Lights Village, a beautiful property we stayed at in Saariselkä. Make sure to follow along 😇
