What travelers say:

The Olu Castle is a late castle in the Olu region of Finland, founded in 1590 on an island in the Olu Delta, originally built mostly of wood and dirt. According to the evidence, before 1375, the Olu Castle was located in an early medieval castle built earlier; According to the Russian "Sofia Chronicles", people from the Novgorod region wanted to conquer the castle in the Oulu Delta, but failed in 1377. The castle is a ruined castle building, and the castle is now seen as a ruin of the castle, built in about 1605. In 1715, the castle suffered complete damage as the Russian army burned it down. The last time the castle was damaged was in 1793, when a lightning strike detonated the arsenal set up here. The remains of the wooden structure of the Olu Fort Arsenal were preserved until 1875, and an observatory was built here, designed by architect Walmart • Westerling (Wolmar Westling), which is what the remains of the castle look like today. Beginning in 1912, the building has a cafeteria and a small exhibition of the history of the castle.
