Basum Tso in Tibet | A little Switzerland hidden in Tibet
"Basum Tso" also known as Cuogao Lake🌊, in Tibetan means "green water". The lake is at an altitude of 3480 meters, located 36 kilometers from Bahe Town, Gongbujiangda County, in the upper reaches of the Bahe River in the high mountain valley, it is a famous sacred lake and holy land of the Red Sect. In August 2017, it became the first natural scenic 5A tourist area in Tibet.
🎡 Attractions:
1⃣ Island in the heart of Basum Tso
A small island in the middle of Basum Tso, connected to the land by a floating bridge. Tourists can walk up via this bridge or take a small boat. Legend has it that the island is a "hollow island", i.e., it is not connected to the lake bottom and floats on the lake. Although it is just a legend, it makes people feel the magic of nature.
2⃣ Cuozong Gongba Temple
Located on the island in the lake, it is a famous Red Sect Nyingma temple in Tibet, built in the late Tang Dynasty, with a history of more than 1500 years. There is a peach and pine tree in the south of the temple. In spring, the peach blossoms and green pines contrast each other, which is very beautiful.
3⃣ Jieba Village
At the foot of the scenic area of Basum Tso, there is an ancient village hidden -- Jieba Village, located deep in the scenic area in Cuogao Township. Only when you explore deep into the scenic area, you will find a paradise at the end of the lake.
4⃣ Xinco (very beautiful, worth a visit)✨
Xinco is an extended scenic spot inside Basum Tso, very beautiful, suitable for hiking, 6 kilometers, about 3 hours. Xinco is quite far from Basum Tso, about 20~30 kilometers, and the road conditions are poor.
🎈 Admission: 115 yuan/person, sightseeing car 50 yuan/person
🎈 Opening hours of the scenic area:
3.15-10.15, 8:30--20:30
10.16-next year 3.14, 9:30-19:30
🚘 Transportation: Self-driving or group tour
You can also take a train from Lhasa to Nyingchi, and then take a bus from Nyingchi City Passenger Transport Center to Basum Tso, about 120 kilometers, ticket price 62 yuan, journey 2-2.5 hours
🏠 Food and accommodation: Basum Tso has developed into a relatively mature tourist resort in recent years, with convenient food and accommodation. The prices in the restaurants in the scenic area are relatively high, and the sanitary conditions are general
🌟 Best viewing season: Spring, Autumn.
In spring, Basum Tso will present a charming blue, as if it were the blue tears of Nyenchen Tanglha. If you also like blue, why not go and see Basum Tso in spring!
Every autumn, when the air is crisp and clear, the forest is dyed and the lake water is pure and clear.
Super real Songzanlin (Basongtso Store)
1, The hardware is impeccable, the room has a smart toilet, electric towel rack, projector, ambient night light (it's the most reasonable lighting design in the hotels I've stayed in recently), but the standard room bed is tiny! 1.2m X 1.8m, isn't it impossible for tall people to stretch their legs?
2, Some thoughtful little things, goodnight drink (in a thermos), prepared a variety of drinks coffee and so on that you can make yourself
3, The scenery is stunning, the swimming pool under the snow mountain, the restaurant with a 270-degree view, the dock where you can sail on the lake, and the horse farm and so on, the soon-to-open Ancestor Bird, it's only a matter of time before it becomes a stop on the journey rather than a night at a hotel
4, Food, dinner is not bad, ordered mushroom stewed rice and vegetables and so on, apart from being expensive there is no problem, breakfast is very rich and delicious, afternoon tea is a bit perfunctory, probably considering that not many guests eat it
5, Service, the biggest complaint this time, the night before they said it was quite good, we checked in very late and didn't get afternoon tea, the room can be delayed until 2 o'clock to check out, if we leave early they can help us pack, breakfast until 10 o'clock and so on, the next morning, they first called to urge us to check out at 11 o'clock, because there are new guests booked? We disagreed, then said that afternoon tea can't be packed, only dine in, and said that breakfast is only until 9 o'clock, our communication process also said that we are very difficult to communicate, can't understand a bit.
Above, can experience, encounter a good manager may have a better experience.

Gala Village and Kasimu Village are the best viewing spots, where you can see the idyllic scenery, with peach blossoms reflecting off snow-capped mountains and lakes!
📸Want tips for photographing peach blossoms? Listen to my advice! For vast peach blossoms, use drones and wide-angle lenses for a super impressive effect! If you enter the valley, use a telephoto lens to capture the interplay of peach blossoms with snow-capped mountains, which will bring an unparalleled visual feast. For detailed close-ups, use a macro lens to capture the beauty of the peach blossoms.
📸There are tricks to photographing people with peach blossoms! Blur the peach blossoms as the foreground, with a full-body or back view of the person as the midground, and a large expanse of peach blossoms and snow-capped mountains as the background, for an absolutely beautiful peach blossom photo! You can also choose close-ups of the person, such as a side glance towards the peach blossoms or a smile when the peach blossoms cover the eyes and lips, which will be very enchanting!
⚠On your way to Nyingchi, remember to pay attention to a few small details! First, during the Peach Blossom Festival, flights and hotels will be in high demand, and prices will rise significantly, so remember to plan and book in advance! Second, the climate in Nyingchi in March has a large diurnal temperature variation, with daytime temperatures between 10-15 degrees Celsius, so keep warm! Also, the ultraviolet rays are very strong, don't forget to bring sunglasses and a sun hat! Lastly, the altitude in Nyingchi is around 3000 meters, which is very suitable for those who are entering Tibet for the first time, as they will not have significant altitude sickness reactions. Please like and follow , friends, are you ready? Follow me to Nyingchi in Tibet, to welcome the most beautiful springtime romance of peach blossoms and snow-capped mountains reflecting each other!🌸🏔💖

Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Yarlung Zangbo, you are in the middle of autumn. With a total length of 504.6 kilometers and an average depth of 2268 meters, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the world's largest canyon. It is known as the "last human myth" and is regarded by scientists as "the keyhole that opens the door to the history of the earth." In the Tibetan language, Yaru refers to the sky from the sky. The autumn colors of
Yaluzang are very charming. Every year in late October, the golden and dark green leaves are intertwined, like a painting that attracts many photographers.
Today's weather is not ideal. After an afternoon, although I can't see the whole picture of Mount Kinabalu, I can still see the main peak of Mount Nanga Bawa. Waiting, just because it is worth it.
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, the deepest canyon in the world, is called the last secret on the earth. It has both the harsh and cold of the Himalayas and the warmth of the Amazon River. When you visit the Grand Canyon with the scenic car, you will arrive first. In the Love Square, you can see that the distant Nanjia Bawa Peak is like a shy girl who is finally unveiled, and the huge triangular peaks are clearly visible. The height of 7782 meters in Nanga Bawa is also proud of the world. Geographers like to analyze the peculiarity of Nanga Bawa from a scientific point of view. The Tibetans think it is a holy place and call it "the mountain." "As a general tourist, I just sigh for the beauty of its masculine beauty. The peaks of the triangle are vigorous and powerful, and the king is demeanor."
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the formation of the Himalayas movement and the rushing of the river. After passing through two high valleys at an altitude of over 6,000 meters, it forms a peculiar U-shaped turn around the Nanga Bawa Peak, and the American branch. The Grand Canyon is exactly the same, but it is longer and deeper.
[Tips]
Transportation and tickets: The scenic spot is very large and there is no public transportation. So if you want to visit the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, you can only participate in the tour or chartered car. You can usually travel in Lhasa or Linzhi. The group, the group price generally includes tickets.
Diet: There are restaurants in the scenic spot, most of them are opened by Sichuanese. The taste is not bad
Note: Although the altitude is not too high, about 2880 meters, but after all, it is a plateau area, pay attention to high anti.
The mountains don't come to me, so I go to them
Sisters preparing to go to Tibet must make a good travel plan before setting off.
Tibet is really beautiful, with fewer tourists and many scenic spots open for free, so the cost of visiting Tibet this winter is really low.
My gear: suitcase + backpack
ID card, student card and other discount documents, as well as a border pass (the tour group will help with this), driving license (needed for self-driving). Warm fuzzy hat, hardshell jacket, down jacket, lightweight sports shoes, sunglasses, disposable bitter apricot kernels, face towels, travel-sized toiletries, emulsion, body lotion, sunscreen.
Rhodiola, glucose, cold medicine, power bank, charger, various snacks, and about 200 yuan in small change
My friend and I spent about 8 days in Tibet. We spent 6 days with a tour group visiting attractions outside Lhasa. We joined a local Tibetan travel agency's small group tour. It was an all-inclusive package, including accommodation, meals, driver, insurance, attraction tickets, drone aerial photography, oxygen, etc. Overall, it was very good; the driver was easy to talk to, and the others in the group were all around the same age and very friendly. There was a lot of time on the road, but everyone chatted and shared snacks together, and we also discussed photo poses for the next scenic spot. It's very suitable for someone like me. Well, if you're going with a group, you must ask about the other participants, really, being with people of the same age is more enjoyable.
Accommodation suggestion: Staying near Barkhor Street is indeed a very convenient choice, it's easy to get anywhere. Also, don't stay in hotels with diffuse oxygen supply; it's not necessary. If you really feel uncomfortable, just stay in one with oxygen supply. If you're on a tight budget, staying in a hostel is also a good choice, but you should look around more.
About altitude sickness: Stop aerobic exercise in advance, and don't get too excited when you first arrive in Lhasa, and you should be fine. Glucose, Snickers, and cola can help alleviate symptoms. Oxygen is available for sale in the city, 15-20 yuan is normal. Trains have diffuse oxygen supply available.
Other suggestions: It's really comfortable when the sun is out during the day, three layers of clothing are usually enough, but you need to add more in the morning and evening. Also, no matter when you come to Tibet, you must prepare warm clothing. A hat is definitely necessary.
The altitude of the Nyingchi line is lower, while the Everest line is higher. If your physical condition allows, you must go to Everest to see the sunrise on the golden mountain.
Beautiful spears piercing the sky
Beautiful spears piercing the sky||| Known as China's most beautiful mountain, I didn't think it was more beautiful than the Minya Konka and Yala peaks I had seen before coming here. But standing by the Yarlung Tsangpo River, I felt what it means to see spears piercing the sky. The unique shock of a 5000m elevation difference is unparalleled. Photos can't capture one-tenth of it.
If you really want to take pictures, consider
p1-p6 Songson Village (Gongzhu Dem, Tibetan Heart Returning, Peach Blossom Charm, On the Road to the Village)
p7-p8 Darin Village (Village Entrance, Songzan)
p9 Sejila Mountain Pass

National Day holiday, recommending 9 off-the-beaten-path scenic spots in China
Hello, we are Xiao Yan and Lao Zhao, always on the road, the unknown scenery ahead can always heal everything.
Here are 9 off-the-beaten-path scenic spots in China that we have visited and think are very worthwhile:
1⃣️Lulang Town, Tibet
Autumn is its most beautiful season, with large pine forests and distant snow-capped mountains complementing each other, plus the log cabins are like a fairy tale world, and you can also overlook the 28th highest peak in the world, Namjagbarwa.
2⃣️Shangri-La Baishuitai
You can see the Cotton Castle without going to Turkey, this is a calcified landscape that has naturally formed over thousands of years, like silky cream terraces.
3⃣️Guizhou Yubulu Tiankeng
Although it is a man-made device, it is hidden in a thousand-year-old village, the photo feels very magical, and it's free and very worth seeing in person.
4⃣️Lijiang Wenhai
A lesser-known scenic spot in Lijiang that we really like, you can overlook the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, with herds of cattle and sheep on the large grassland by the lake, it feels like Ili.
5⃣️Xinjiang Tianshan Stone Forest
A very magical landscape, like the wilderness in the real version of The Legend of Zelda. The entrance is right next to the Duku Highway, so it's only convenient to go there in the few months when Duku is open, which is now.
6⃣️Lijiang Ganheba
You need to start hiking from Yuhu Village in Lijiang, in the direction of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, there are tenacious trees in the calcified saline-alkali land, which can't help but marvel at the magic of nature.
7⃣️Qiandongnan Jiayi Miao Village
A still quite off-the-beaten-path village, with few people and pristine scenery, there are large terraced fields, just like Miyazaki's anime.
8⃣️Inner Mongolia Wulan Lake
A salt lake hidden in the Alxa Desert, very magical like the heart of the earth. The color will be redder and more beautiful from July to October every year.
9⃣️Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge High Road Hiking
A hiking route recommended by National Geographic, walking along the rolling Jinsha River on the cliffs, accompanied by goats, the scenery is very shocking.
Take advantage of the holiday, let's go!
Rulong, a small town in eastern Switzerland | Like a fairyland on earth
| Like a fairyland on earth.
The town of Rulong is an international tourist destination. It's a small place, but it's very clean and tidy everywhere. The architectural style of the houses is lazy in Tibetan, but the interior decoration is still very traditional Han. The original traditional Tibetan houses have been improved a lot, but you can still see the characteristics of Tibetans. Although the peach blossom festival in Nyingchi has passed, there are still many peach blossoms blooming, but these two days have been covered by heavy snow on the branches, the heavy snow swaying on the flowers, the top is white snow, the bottom is pink flowers, you can imagine a bunch of beautiful scenery. The sound of snow shoes stepping on the snow, it's been a long time since I played like this. I still miss the taste of butter tea, full of sheep milk flavor, thin, floating a layer of butter
:
√Rulong Forest Sea: The young forest is green and the mother forest is secluded. The towering snow of Namjagbarwa and the forest sea reflect each other, which makes the plateau of Tibet more magnificent
√Zaxigang Folk Village: The thick Tibetan-style houses and the buildings that blend the characteristics of Tibetans, Han, and Menba are scattered among the high mountain pastoral fields, quiet and peaceful
√Gongtso Lake: The lake in the scenic area is clear and rippling, the mountains and rivers are continuous, as if in a paradise, you can also overlook the Namjagbarwa Peak, it is also a good place for photography
√Specialty food: When you come to Rulong, you must have a pot of stone chicken. It is made by hollowing out a whole stone. The local Tibetan chicken is used, and the stream water from the snow mountain is used with ginseng, Tibetan beimu, lily, wolfberry and other medicinal materials. Slow stew, stew out the delicious food
:
High-end: Poly Yatu (open the door and walk out of the yard is the artificial lake); Evergrande Hotel (Tibetan manor style, the hotel provides Tibetan clothes) Homestay: You can live in Zaxigang Village (secretly live in Zaxigang Village to enter the high mountain pasture without tickets)

👀If you have only seen the green and snow mountains of Tibet
🍁Then come to Linzhi in the fall~
Tibet | The small Swiss town of Lulang, which is not generally desolate in winter
🚗 Lulang is located on the Sichuan-Tibet road about 80 kilometers east of Bayi Town in Linzhi, Tibet. It has a superior geographical location and rich tourist resources, and is known as the 'Eastern Switzerland'. It is mainly characterized by glacier landforms, high mountain canyons, and animal and plant resource landscapes. It is a top tourist resource area in the world where various landscapes such as glaciers, mountains, canyons, meadows, forests, rivers, and lakes coexist, and it has great development and utilization value and potential.
🚗 This so-called holiday town was only built in recent years. It is said that many wealthy people come to recuperate in summer. I have passed by several times before, and apart from the building complex itself being worth a look, there is really nothing else to explore. The accommodation conditions may be relatively better, but the budget is also higher.
🚗 This time I chose to stay here with the group, and I feel that the accommodation conditions are okay. Although it is minus ten degrees at night, there is a heater in the room, so it's not cold. But the street is quite desolate, maybe because it's cold at night and you can't see anyone haha.

Namcha Barwa Peak Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Seven magnificent and majestic snow-capped mountains within the territory of Tibet
The Roof of the World—the Tibetan Plateau, is not only home to the world's highest peak but also boasts a series of famous mountain ranges.
These mountains, like a backbone, set up the grandeur and vastness of the Tibetan Plateau, carrying people's hopes and blessings.
1, 🏔 Mount Everest (elevation 8848.86 meters)
It is the main peak of the Himalayas and the highest mountain in China and the world. In Tibetan, 'Zhumu' means 'goddess,' and 'Langma' means 'mother elephant,' which together signify 'Mother of the Earth.' Mount Everest has a giant pyramid shape, standing tall and majestic, reaching into the sky. As the world's highest peak, it attracts countless gazes. Its grandeur is imposing, draped in a thin veil of snow, resembling a celestial maiden.
2, 🏔 Mount Kailash (elevation 6656 meters)
It is the second highest peak of the Gangdise mountain range, with its snow-covered summit shining golden in the sunlight. Its pyramid-like shape is distinct from the surrounding peaks and is also considered a sacred mountain by devout followers.
3, 🏔 Mount Kula Kangri (elevation 7538 meters)
Located in Lhozhag County in the Shannan region of Tibet, it is known as one of the 'Four Great Sacred Mountains' of central Tibet. The entire snow mountain is composed of three peaks. Standing alongside Mount Kula Kangri are six peaks over 7000 meters high. From a distance, the peaks stand shoulder to shoulder, resembling a towering ice and snow barrier that reaches the sky.
4, 🏔 Namcha Barwa (elevation 7782 meters)
It is the highest mountain in Nyingchi, Tibet Autonomous Region. As the sacred site of Tibet's oldest Buddhist tradition, 'Yungdrung Bon,' it is known as the 'Father of Tibetan Mountains.' Its massive triangular peak is perennially snow-covered, shrouded in mist, and rarely reveals its true face, earning it the nickname 'Shy Girl Peak.'
5, 🏔 Shishapangma (elevation 8027 meters)
It is an 8000-meter peak entirely within Chinese territory. In Tibetan, Shishapangma means 'the weather is extremely cold, and the climate is harsh and variable,' but the Tibetan people praise it as an 'auspicious sacred mountain.' Its north slope has a glacier valley over 10 kilometers long, with a forest of ice towers shining like a 'crystal garden.' However, it is also covered with crisscrossing ice and snow crevasses and occasional massive ice and snow avalanches, making climbing extremely difficult.
6, 🏔 Mount Sajama (elevation 6956 meters)
Located in Yangxiu Township, Biru County, it has stood here for thousands of years, surrounded by mountains, with its main peak revered as the king of local sacred mountains. Its highest peak is 6556 meters, also known as 'Sapuganglaga,' and is one of the sacred mountains of the Bon religion in Tibetan Buddhism.
7, 🏔 Cho Oyu (elevation 8201 meters)
It is the sixth highest peak in the world, located on the border between China and Nepal in the Himalayas. 'Cho Oyu' in Tibetan means 'the great master.' Cho Oyu stands tall and mighty in the Himalayas. Cho Oyu has five main ridges, and its mountain is perennially snow-covered, surrounded by snow peaks, with layers of mountains presenting a spectacular view.
Let's appreciate the photos of the snow-capped mountains taken by friends who travel to Tibet! 🏔
It is said that seeing the sunrise over Mount Namjagbarwa will bring you luck for a whole year
It is said that seeing the sunrise over Mount Namjagbarwa will bring you luck for a whole year.
Mount Namjagbarwa
Whenever the clouds and fog disperse
The soft sunset spills over the white snow-capped mountains, and the mountains instantly put on a new outfit of glittering gold
This scene is dreamlike, who wouldn't exclaim a few words after seeing it
I think, friends who have seen the sunrise over the mountains must have unforgettable memories for a lifetime!
But Mount Namjagbarwa is also known as the 'Shy Girl Peak', the mountain is often shrouded in clouds and fog
Whether you can see the clouds disperse and the sunset glow falls, it depends on your luck
Mount Namjagbarwa is located in the Nyingchi region, it is the 15th highest peak in the world
From December to February of the following year, the probability of seeing the sunrise over Mount Namjagbarwa is relatively high
Tibet in Winter: A Quietly Beautiful Poem of the Snowy Plateau
When the hustle and bustle of summer settles, winter in Tibet is like a serene fairy, gently lifting her veil. At this time, she sheds the hustle and bustle, leaving only purity and tranquility. Every inch of land is filled with a deep cultural charm, and every breeze is blowing the beautiful natural scenery.
In Lhasa in winter, the sun is soft and warm, sprinkled on the golden roof of the Jokhang Temple, like golden tassels gently swaying. The Tibetan aunts at the street corner, turning the prayer wheels in their hands, chanting ancient scriptures, their figures in the winter sun are particularly peaceful and auspicious, becoming the most touching scenery line of this city.
Stepping into Nyingchi is like stepping into a world of ice and snow fairy tales. The Namjagbarwa Peak is more majestic and mysterious under the winter sun, and the Lulang Forest at the foot of the mountain is dressed in silver, like a splash-ink landscape painting. Here, you can listen to the sound of snow falling, feel the magic and beauty of nature, and also sit around the stove with Tibetan compatriots, sharing their stories and laughter.
In winter in Tibet, there are many hidden beauties waiting for you to discover. The grasslands of Nagqu are more vast and desolate in winter, the surface of Yang Lake ripples in the cold wind, and the sacred mountains and lakes of Ali shine with mysterious light under the winter sun. No matter where you go, you can feel the deep cultural heritage and natural beauty of this land.
In this season, Tibet shows her beauty and mystery to the fullest. There is no hustle and bustle here, only peace and harmony. Stepping into winter in Tibet is like stepping into a world full of poetry and dreams, which makes people intoxicated and linger.

As a young college student, I tried solo group travel🎒 for the first time. To be honest, I was a bit nervous at the beginning, after all, it was my first time to join a group alone, worrying that I couldn't enjoy myself or encounter any troubles. However, to my surprise, this trip went very smoothly, which completely changed my view on group travel and even got me a bit addicted. I visited many amazing sights, took many beautiful photos, and had constant surprises along the way. Now let me share my travel experience with you📸

The beauty of Tibet can heal a lifetime, and one day, you will set foot on this vast land for any reason ⛳. March-April is the last off-peak period in Tibet, after which the crowded peak season begins. Not only are there fewer tourists and lower costs in March-April, but you can also witness the annual spring spectacle of miles of peach blossoms 🌸. Here comes the flower viewing guide
·
✅ Transportation Guide
✈ Plane: Direct flights to Lhasa or Nyingchi
🚞 Train: Lhasa-Nyingchi (train numbers C881/C893, about 4H journey)

Since the peach blossoms are mostly in Nyingchi, it's best to choose the Nyingchi route.
【Beautiful Tibet - Lulang Forest Sea】
🎥Lulang Forest Sea, rated as the "most beautiful forest in China" by National Geographic Magazine of China, is located in Bayi District, Nyingchi City, Tibet, with an altitude of 5400 meters. It is now a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Lulang Forest Sea is a forest in the sea of clouds and mountains, with the reputation of "making people not want to go home".
🚕We drove from the beautiful Peach Blossom Village in Nyingchi to Lulang Forest Sea. When our car reached the top of the mountain, we were shocked by the "sky scenery" scroll in front of us. The top of the distant mountain was covered in white, and it was unclear whether it was flying snow or scattered clouds. The white mountain peak disappeared in the field of vision, with snow and fog lingering, like falling into a fantasy.
💎The Lulang Forest Sea in early spring is covered with snow, and the pure white snow is like thick cotton, warmly nourishing the bare peaks. The snow-covered coniferous leaves and the mountain peaks are like the surging tide, and the snow has dyed everything white, just like a fairyland. At this time, Lulang Forest Sea has turned into Lulang Snow Sea.
👬Looking around, the snow-capped mountains and clouds are nestled in the distance, the green pines and mist intersect in the forest, the quiet and simple Tibetan villages are quietly located between the forest sea and the meadow, and we can't help but pick up the camera to record the exquisite moments.
🏞The early spring of Lulang is a minimalist ink painting. The originally colorful village becomes peaceful and harmonious after a night of snowfall. The distant snow-capped mountains and glaciers shine with the nearby scattered villages and cattle and sheep. The vast scenery adds a sense of sacred awe. The snowy field of Lulang's forest sea is amazing, intoxicating, and unforgettable......
