TheForkUserThis was the 2nd time we have had lunch here, 4 years apart. Again the food was excellent and unique, the service friendly and discreet and we had a very good bottle of wine. Great place to spend a couple of hours.

TheForkUserLa Barbacane is memorably good. We had the Signature Menu with suggested wine pairings. Course after course was superb. It was, however, too much food, which we should have realized earlier in the meal. That said, the third course was John Dory grilled for which it would have been a sin to leave even a single molecule. I felt the same way about the chocolate dessert, but by then, I had to concede. Great, friendly service, able to adapt well to English speakers. Gorgeous room, and the wait staff enters and exists through a giant confessional. Outstanding, and very highly recommended. Worth the considerable cost…

TheForkUserExcellent as always. This gem of a restaurant set by the side of the hotel pool is lovely in all seasons. The welcome and service is very good as is the food. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

TheForkUserWhat an embarrassment. We arrived at the restaurant, advised the receptionist, and were then left standing in the entrance, no waiting staff came near us. After some time, the receptionist took pity on us and escorted us to a table in what appeared to be an annex to the restaurant more commonly used as a breakfast room, indeed we were seated adjacent to a collection of cereals.Eventually, the only waiter appeared and placed a scruffy sheet of paper on the table and disappeared, the sheet of paper turned out to be the menu but was so badly scrawled that it would have embarrassed an 8 year old child, worse still it contained a minimal choice of 2 starters followed by a fish dish and a meat dish, none of which was in the least appetising. Bearing in mind that it was the comprehensive menu displayed on their web site that attracted us to the restaurant in the first place we were all quite stunned, particularly since no explanation was offered.We stayed at the table for some time debating what we should do, during that time, the lone waiter never came anywhere near us, so we got up and left.To be clear, my low mark on food is simply because of the lack of any choice offered and the appalling way that the menu was presented.I know these are tough times and they may well have had a short-term staff crisis but there is no excuse for the way the restaurant was conducted, a simple phone call notifying us of a problem, an apology or an explanation would have gone some way to redeeming them but all we met was indifference.

TheForkUserNothing to fault with this restaurant. Our lunch was innovative, beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Service was exceptional: friendly but always very professional. And the room? Well, when you have a restaurant attached to a Relais et Chateaux there is no need to discuss this. What was also exceptionally nice was that they were prepared to offer us a pared down menu and we appreciated a great deal the lesser amount of food. For the wine lovers, do not despair. A good wine list prepared with local knowledge and attention awaits you. No quibbles here at all. Excellent in all respects.

TheForkUserA restaurant to make business with a high quality kitchen and a quick and smile service. Probably the seats, although comfortable, allow to suspend his jacket without being found on the ground ... But it's really for slipper ....

TheForkUserI could give myself a gift. The server could advise me on the dishes to choose safely. I even had the right to small gluten-free breads because I had specified my intolerance by booking. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.
