My wife and I eat here at least once a month when we go to Orlando. The food has always been excellent and the staff is fabulous. It is not overpriced. Also it is very clean.
My husband & I just had our dinner at Viet Garden Restaurant in Orlando. We have tried 4 different dishes on the menu: Roasted Quail & Soft Shell Crabs for appetizer, Vietnamese Crepe (banh xeo) & Pho Dac Biet for entrees. All of these dishes were heavenly delicious; especially their Banh Xeo; in my opinion, this could very well be "THE BEST BANH XEO" in the U.S. including California (Northern & Southern), Orange County, San Diego & Las Vegas areas. We travel & eat out so much that our standard of food is quite high. The place is very clean (especially the rest rooms), the decor is authentically beautiful, the music is good; and best of all the prices are extremely compatible & perhaps cheaper than others in town. It was an extremely satisfying dinner experience. If you are in Orlando, you must try this restaurant! You will not regret it!
My business associate and I decided to try this place as it was very near where we were conducting business. Wish we hadn't. Maybe it was my choice of dish - squid with stir fry veggies and white rice (no other option)...the dish was bland, and I mean as in NO seasonings, the veggies were limp, blanched (not stir-fried) and all in all extremely disappointing. My associate had the Pad Thai and it was equally disappointing - zero flavor. She had to add soy sauce just to get it to have any taste! I am no Thai chef, but it seems to me you would almost have to try to make a dish of Pad Thai this bland. And though business takes me there often, I will not risk another visit, ever.
