What to do on a rainy/snowy day in Seoul? You should go to one of the largest aquariums in Korea. COEX Aquarium houses more than 180 exhibition tanks and 90 breeding tanks, with 3,500 tons of water volume. It houses 40,000 sea creatures of 650 different species, exhibited in 16 themed zones. We went here earlier this month. You can get a pamphlet where you can collect stamps. #seoul If you have a Discovery Seoul Pass, I can confidently say that visiting Coex Aquarium is definitely worth it. The pass grants you free admission to the aquarium, meaning you saved money on entrance fees.

Coex Aquarium is located in the basement of Coex Mall.
It is a large aquarium with various species of marine animals and plants. The aquarium has around 650 species and 40,000 sea creatures including sharks, rays, eels, and penguins.

You can also find interactive exhibits where you can touch sea anemones or other marine animals under supervision. 
The highlight of the museum is undoubtedly the tank where visitors can walk through a tunnel surrounded by fish, sharks , sea turtles and other large underwater creatures.

The aquarium is quite huge that we spent a few hours here. It is divided into several themed zones, such as the Coral Kingdom, the Ocean Kingdom, and the Marine Mammals Zone. Every zone was interesting, and there was also a touch pool, where we touched and interacted with various creatures such as starfish and sea cucumbers. The aquarium is located in the Coex Mall, which is a large shopping and entertainment complex that includes a variety of restaurants and shops. #실내데이트 Coex aquarium is the biggest aquarium in Korea and it is one of the places to go. In particular, it has recently become the preferred destination for couples for dating. It is located inside the coex shopping center and close to the Starfield library. There are multiple sections inside, each section has a separate theme. There are many variety of fish. You can enjoy here without getting bored.

A must visit to COEX Aquarium especially if you are staying in the hotels within this area. It is directly connected to InterContinental Seoul COEX. If you have follow Trip.com then you will know they are selling 2 nights at InterContinental Seoul COEX for S$208. I know right! So unbelievable! Too bad, this offer has a stay period until the end of December. If not, you will see me back in Seoul again. It is super easy to book flight tickets and hotels and even attraction tickets on Trip.com. They have made travelling so easy and we just have to show up with our passports. Place your head beside the fish tanks and the sharks will just swim past you. There are so many sharks of various sizes and the stingrays are abundant too. This COEX aquarium is also one of the largest aquariums in Seoul. From the website. It has a total of 6 themed areas and 14 discovery zones for you to discover. Their shark collection in this aquarium is huge and you can take photos of them easily. I spent about 2 hours here and I had a great time. There are also feeding sessions which take place earlier in the day. So you can come early to watch the feeding sessions. Go down to the lower floor and you will enter a darker theme which is the “Ocean Kingdom”. Over here, you can also see a tunnel when you are nearing the end of the exhibit. In this section, there are bigger sea creatures and you can get up close with them. I got scared when I walked past the tank and the crocodile was right beside me. The crocodile did not move and I jumped when I saw him. The entire aquarium is air-conditioned and I find they have more varieties compared to our SEA at Sentosa. This section has to be my highlight in my visit. There is a huge fridge in the children’s section and you can open it and see many fish tanks inside the fridge. Then next to it is the bedroom and you also can find hidden fish tanks too. If you walk towards the kitchen, there is this circular fish tank which has a sign to tell you to wash your hands before putting it into the hole. This is whereby you can get a free spa for your hands when you put it inside. The tiny fishes will crowd around your fingers and eat off the dead skins. Coex Aquarium spares no effort to decorate the aquarium as well, and is one where you can definitely feel the Halloween 🎃 vibes while there. From the entrance decorations, staff cosplay, aquarium decorations and even cute Halloween figurines inside the individual fish tanks with the fishes, the aquarium takes special care to display the Halloween spirits. In addition, what makes the Aquarium interesting is the incorporation of fish tanks in the telephone booth, small fish tanks within the fridge, bookshelf, bedroom and more. We also love the Penguins 🐧 enclosure of which we can see lots of cute penguins up close walking around, swimming and more. They're so cute, and we spent quite a while there observing them. Went down to Coex Aquarium for the first time when I’m in Korea during February 2024! It’s located inside Starfield Coex Mall and reachable through their subway, Samseong Station Line 2 Exit 5/6. Walk for about 10 minutes from subway station with many signage inside the shopping mall to guide you there. The staff there are really friendly too! Many feeding sessions too and the staff will explain on how they feed their animals. The tanks that the aquatic animals stay in are very clean, it shows how well the aquatic animals are well taken care of. Embarking on a food journey in Seoul, attended by a friend's family! From deep local eateries to dessert shops that you wouldn't normally visit on a regular trip!! I indulged in raw Yukhoe, which you can't find in Japan! I also visited the Kanjang Shijang, where I could feel the market's liveliness and had a really fun and delicious time!! We even went to see the JYP Entertainment office at my daughter's request and shopped for Starbucks Korea-exclusive items. And at the COEX Aquarium, we enjoyed an aquarium experience different from what you find in Japan!!
