About Pai

Located about 50 miles (80km) north of Chiang Mai, Pai is a small town that has become a popular destination for backpackers due to its chilled-out vibe and its easy access to explore Thailand's northern jungles. What was once a small Shan market town now primarily lives off tourism, and the town's streets are lined with tourist shops and restaurants catering to foreign visitors. From Pai, there is very easy access to a number of elephant camps, waterfalls, and natural hot springs. Its proximity to the mountains makes it a great jumping off point for trekking excursions, where you can visit villages of various hill tribes, including the Karen, Hmong, Lisu and Lahu people. While Pai no longer feels undiscovered, traces of the traditional culture continue to exist, especially at the popular Wednesday market.

The inverted hut is a small house in the Pai Resort. Everything is inverted, including houses, mailboxes, chimneys and bicycles. It is very interesting. It is not far from the center of Pai County, and it is one of the classic photographing places in Pai County. The owner also prepared two white benches for the tourists to take pictures. There is also a signpost next to it, guiding the direction of Pai and the distance to Chiang Mai.

The Pai Historical Bridge is a steel bridge that was built by Japanese soldiers during World War II. The dark green steel frame on the bridge and the old wooden boards seem to be outdated. But some people have decorated some interesting elements on the bridge, making it a popular shooting point. On one side of the bridge there is a wooden sedan model where people can take a photo in the car.
