We visited the Library on a miserable Sunday the 1st of December. Admission was free so we had a look inside and were surprised to see how many people were inside in the libraries, studying, reading e...
This big national library is needed for academics who are doing research, but at some peril as the design causes problems in wet and windy weather as the entrances are dangerous. But once inside, loo...
different place, quiet to spend some time and read
opened until 8 PM the library is impressive. The building has an amazing architecture, reminding 4 open books with a nice garden in the middle. You can relax, read, experience the place in peace.
I came here to check out the extraordinary architecture and to work in peace and quiet for a while. As a temporary visitor, I wish there were more study spaces that were accessible without a pass (wh...

If you love French literature, no visit to the capital would be complete without a visit to its largest literature collection. The Bibliothèque Nationale is an impressive building commissioned by president François Mittérand. Not only can you visit the reading rooms for a small fee, but the library also has occasional exhibits on writers throughout the large building.
Unless you are a registered student at a university, you can't actually go in, but even viewing from behind the glass is worth the visit to such an impressive building.
We came here close to closing time just to check it out since we happened to have been in the area. The design of the building is pretty unique with four large glass towers that are connected by long, never ending corridors. There's a very large garden courtyard in the center of the four buildings which looked awesome, but was closed off when we were there. There was nice terrace seating as well overlooking the courtyard. Plus I read they have 14 million books here! They also host special exhibitions which were already closed when we got there unfortunately.
The new building of the National Library of France is an overall design building with a strong sense of space and artistic characteristics. It also meets the needs of readers and requires many practical designs. Immerse yourself in the ocean of books inside.
