Today's visit reminded me of why we make the pilgrimage here at least once a year. Besides a huge Monet display, this museum boasts an important collection of (female) French impressionist painter Ber...
Definitely one of the best museum to visit in Paris. Have the largest collections of Monet's work. Absolutely stunning work by this gifted artist.
The museum has three levels, one devoted to Monet and other two - to different artists of (mostly) 19th century. The museum shows a collection of art of Marmottan family (if I remember right) and give...
The Museum is located on the East side of Paris, a bit away from the center. It is not a big Museum but worth a visit for those people that love the work of Monet. Bus #63 takes you to the end of its ...
Excellent small museum in historic house with excellent Monet collection
How did we not see this place in all of our prior visits to Paris? This is a small museum in the 16th. It's a former private residence (hunting lodge) with an excellent collection of Monets in a cus...
On the off chance that you want to see the seat of the Impressionist development in workmanship and portrayal of the works of art of that time, visit the Musee Marmottan Monet in Paris. Claude Monet's depiction "Impression Sunrise" is the reason the development got its name. It was really a harsh portrayal of the style and was instituted by a craftsmanship pundit when he was ridiculing, "these impressionists." What was once comparatively radical is presently delighted in by workmanship lovers wherever who accept the open door to go and see the firsts in the entirety of their eminence. The cobalt violet color that Monet utilized, as found in his dynamite delineation of water lilies, is really one of a kind. The dance of color and light enliven each one of Monet's subjects from pictures to landscapes.
Wonderful collection of Monet. Unpleasant staff from guard at entrance to the gift shop personnel. Not a smile or a bonjour .Sour experience.
A real experience if you like impressionists ,in this days an exceptional private collection :Van Gogh, Monet , Manet and many others ! Don't miss it
One of the prettiest museums in Paris, it houses a permanent collection of Monet. His large water lily tableaus are always impressive, but what I found most interesting were the landscapes he painted of buildings and bridges during his travels in Italy and in the south of France. The temporary exhibit is also usually interesting. Afterwards you can take a rest at Jardin du Ranelagh.
If you are a Monet fan, then this museum is a must!!!! Worth the price of admission.
The effect of seeing so many Monet paintings in the same space is one of color overload, but in a good way! I'll definitely remember this trip.
