What people are saying:

While it is not a major tourist attraction like the Eiffel Tower, the statue of liberty is very cool to see and worth the 5min walk from the Champ de Mars, especially for anyone that has seen the one in New York City, it is cool to see the french counterpart.

While we were on the Seine boat cruise we made a turning point at the Statue of Liberty at Pont de Grenelle. The statue is here because France gave the U.S. the Statue of Liberty in 1886; and the A...

    Lady Liberty

I don’t regret going to see the statue, but it’s not something I would recommend to someone who only has a day or two in Paris. The walk was okay, but didn’t provide a great view. It’s nice that it’s ...

Additional Information

Introduction

Since the French artist Auguste Bartholdi created the Statue of Liberty for New York, Americans in Paris sponsored a smaller version, the Statue de la Liberte, which stands on a little island in the Seine River. You can see it from the bridge of Pont de Grenelle, or from a boat cruising down the Seine. To get even closer take the steps leading down from the bridge to a wide path that goes under the bridge and which leads to the base of the statue.
