This is a valuable asset for the museums in Philadelphia. The sea is an important part of city history. But the museum needs to be updated. These days, glass cabinets are not enough to attract people. I recently visited the Transport Museum in Glasgow, Scotland - the Maritime Exhibition is great - and it's worth seeing the museum's administrator / owner. U.S. submarines and the USS Olympics are awards.
The independent Harbour Museum in Philadelphia emphasizes the role of Philadelphia as an immigration centre. The exhibits are interesting. Its shipyard closed in 1995 after 200 years of operation. The main exhibits are the flagship "Olympia" cruiser and the World War II meritorious submarine SS319 Barracuda in the US Navy Special Admiral Dewey House during the Spanish-American War.
The museum is very close to the Independent Palace. There is a huge and wide staircase beside the landing entrance to give pedestrians a rest and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the river bank. Two boats, including the Olympia, dock beside a gray building with a staircase-like roof.
Navigation is an important part of the culture of European and American countries, which is of great commemorative significance.
It's very interesting to know that this museum was built in a relevant and independent harbour.
The Independent Harbour Museum showcases the changes and history of many harbours, where some old-fashioned warships can be seen.
Museum of great historical significance! It's worth visiting and studying.
A well-known Museum in the area is worth visiting.
