Additional Information

Introduction

Inside the mountain ranges of the Dandenongs, visitors can encounter settlements offering quaint hotels, craft shops and cozy restaurants. Travelers are attracted to the area, just 35 km east of Melbourne, for the lovely Dandenong Ranges National Park, a parkland that has been under care since 1882. The area is full of a lush, temperate rain forest, complete with numerous streams and several waterfalls, and mountainous summits famous with hikers. The Puffing Billy Railway, a historic steam railway, goes through the area as well.
