The Royal Palace is the most popular attraction to visit in Phnom Penh. It embodies the essence of the architecture and art of the Khmer dynasty. The entire building is composed of yellow and white structures, yellow for Buddhism and white for Brahmanism. Part of the palace is open to the general public, and the part where the royal family lives, cannot be visited. There is a large lawn and plaza outside the palace. The flocks of white pigeons fly around and gives you a peaceful view. Ticket price: 6.5 US dollars approx., opening hours are: 8:00-11:30 and 14:00-17:00 during the day, address: between 184th Street and 240th Street on the Solo Prince Avenue in the Tonle Sap River in Phnom Penh City.
Note: It seems that the prices have increased from January 2017, and the specific ticket price is not clear. Entering the palace requires a full clothing like long sleeved tops, long skirt and pants that go below the knees. The camera cannot be taken inside the palace and taking photographs is prohibited.
