The National Museum is Cambodia's famous museum of history and archaeology and contains many Khmer art collections. The museum building features a gabled roof, carved doors and Khmer ancient temple architecture, blending traditional Khmer architecture with French colonial style. There are tens of thousands of precious collections in the museum, spanning different historical periods, mainly including four types of exhibits: stoneware, bronze, porcelain and wood. There are also small collections of oil paintings, textiles, pictures and other archives. Enshrined at a small pavilion in the center of the museum is a small statue. It is surrounded by several small artificial lotus ponds, full of charm.
