Out of my love for the train station, I arranged my last attraction at the train station in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The train station is located in the downtown doorway, often there will be traffic jams, because it is a traffic lane, but the train inside the train station is really not many. The trains to and from Sihanouk and Phnom Penh airports pass by every day. In countries like Cambodia, it is a luxury to travel by train. But here's a good thing. He supports Alipay and WeChat pay to buy tickets. It's really great.
This train station was built in 1931 and renovated and officially reopened in 2010. Passenger traffic was minimal - only from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville. Ticket halls were accessible but the platform was no longer open to the public. Overall, this train station is smaller than Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. But there are some dark secrets about this place. It is the founding site of the Cambodian Workers' Party and the first congress of the Khmer Rouge leadership.
The train was so strange to the Cambodian people that I asked the hotel owner where the Phnom Penh train station was. I was surprised when I looked at the map and walked to the train station, so big the train station was so well decorated, but no trains came here to drive more, it was a waste. Perhaps the next time we come back to Cambodia, the Phnom Penh train station will be a bit lively because their country is now working to develop train transportation, and it is really too slow to rely on cars alone.
Phnom Penh Railway Station, near Cambodia Medical University, was built in 1931 and reopened in 2010 after renovation. It is now possible to take trains from Phnom Penh to Sihanouk City, with two stops at Takeo and Kampot.
