Interesting, but in bad shape. This house is an opportunity to see inside one of Old Phuket Town''s mansions. The house is in a very run down state. It''s beautiful original facade shoes terrible wear and tear, and has an ugly shed built over the right hand side of the facade. The visitor may only see the ground floor, which is furnished, but also shows signs of a desperate need of repair. The garden and the upstairs are not open. It is down a long driveway next door to the beautiful Phra Phithak Chinpracha Mansion (Blue Elephant). This was the only interior of an historic Old Phuket Town mansion that I was able to see, so it was worth the 150 baht. See it before it falls down!!

A gem of Phuket in the old town means beaches, nightclubs, bars, massages and luxury resorts for many travelers. The other side of Phuket is its rich history and culture and local life. We just wanted to feel the other side of it that is different this time. Adjacent to the famous Blue Elephant Restaurant is an elegant Chinese-style Portuguese house called Chinpracha House, built by Geng Maxiang in 1903, the son of an immigrant from Fujian, China, who moved to Phuket in the mid-19th century. The old house has many traditionally furnished rooms that show the many photos of the owners from different careers. There is also a lovely central botanical garden with a fish pond that breathes cool air through the house and is comfortable even on the hottest days. We also saw couples taking traditional wedding photos there, young girls mostly dressed in traditional clothes, very local characteristics. We had to say that our luck was really good, and finally met the beautiful Khun Daeng. She is the great-granddaughter of the original owner of Chinpracha House, and she still lives upstairs. I want to communicate with her in Chinese, but unfortunately she doesn't know Chinese very well, and we all speak good English. The movie "Heaven and Earth" used to feature Chinpracha House, so there are also related perimeters in the memorial shop outside. Highly recommend spending time with our guide Chaya on the Phuket Heritage Trail who is passionate and knowledgeable about her home island and can better show you the local features and the history and culture that is included. Tips: 1. Visiting fee: 200 baht per person. 2. There are many hundreds of artifacts in there, you can shoot but don't touch them easily.
A very distinctive street in Phuket town, the whole street is not very long, but there are many colorful houses, the architecture style is also very similar to Chinese houses, there will be some Chinese characters on the houses, is a new to Phuket some Chinese people's gathering place.
