Onofrio's Large Fountain

Through the majestic gates of Pelle, the starting point of the ancient city is a small square, with a large circular fountain carved with sixteen masks in the center of the square, which introduces spring water more than a dozen kilometers away into the city, a water supply system that is still in use from the Middle Ages. Today, the outlet is connected to the iron water pipe, and the spring water is cool, which is worthy of being a good place to prevent heat and cool down in summer.

The Great Onofo Fountain is located in the ancient city of Dubu. You can see it when you enter the pile gate. The fountain is not big. There are many outlets. The sculptures of the outlet are very cute. The water can be drunk directly.

The Great Onofo Fountain was built in 1438 and is a landmark of Dubrovnik Old Town. The fountain was designed by the designer Onofrio della Cava, which marks the completion of the Dubrovnik City Water Plan from 12 kilometers away. The fountain was severely damaged in the Great Earthquake of 1667. It is now an ancient city. Many tourists in famous attractions will rest here. After entering the Pile Gate, the Onovlio Fountain is at the beginning of Pratza Street, built in 1438, with a dome polygon. Although it is called a "fountain", it is not the fountain we usually see. It was destroyed during the earthquake. Now there are only 16 mask sculptures.
