About Porto

With its Baroque and Romanesque churches, concert halls and museums, Porto, Portugal's second largest city, is both intriguing and charismatic. Located along the D'ouro river estuary on Portugal northern coast, the city has almost perfect year-round weather: great for taking a Port wine tour, golf at one of the city's picturesque resorts such as Amarante or Miramar; or just strolling around the city admiring such architectural wonders such as: Gustave Eiffel's Dona Maria Bridge, Nicolau Nasoni's Clerigos Tower, Rem Koolhaas ' Casa da Musica, or Siza Vieira's Serralves Museum.

Bridge
The Dom Luís I Bridge on the Douro River connects the city of Porto with the new city of Vila Nova on the South Bank. It is not only a majestic iron bridge with great ornamental value, but also a traffic artery that communicates the north and south sides of the Douro River. In front of the bridge, you will come to the lively riverside scenery of Porto, where the charming harbor begins.

Church
Historical Architecture
The Porto Cathedral is located on the prominent hills of Porto. It was built around 1110 and is one of the very old buildings of the city. The overall architecture of the church is a mix of Gothic and Baroque styles. The ornate rose windows and gates and the main altar itself are purely late Baroque, and the elegant interior of the Gothic cloister is stunning. In addition, there are many beautiful blue-and-flower tile murals inside the church, which is also a major feature of Portuguese architecture.
Clérigos Tower

Historical Architecture
Known as the Monk Tower, Torre dos Clérigos was built in 1732 and completed in 30 years. It is a typical Baroque tower. This 10-story building, despite its 76-meter "short" figure, is already a relatively tall building in Porto. Standing on the commanding heights here, you can overlook the wonderful view of Porto.
Ribeira Square

Square
UNESCO World Heritage-Cultural Site
Ribera square is the quintessential part of the city of Porto. The square does not look orderly, but it creates an industrial revolution atmosphere. There are lots of bars and restaurants on the square, as well as small shops run by locals, and the arts and crafts are beautiful.
