Photos of Shixiang Lake

Shixiang Lake is located in Pujiang County, near Chengdu. The lake is surrounded on all sides by the verdant greens of an ancient forest. Numerous public docks scattered about the lakefront give visitors the opportunity to experience the lake from traditional-style covered sampans. Throughout the scenic area, dozens of different kinds of flowers including lilies, tulips and roses have been planted in a tumultuous riot of scent and color. Each year in March, during the annual Tulip Festival, the mountain is carpeted in blooming tulips. Strolling among the flowers, it is easy to let your imagination drift and feel as though you have entered a small Dutch town.
