Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

The Alexander Nevski Cathedral (Aleksander Nevski katedraal) is Tallinn’s largest and most magnificent Orthodox cathedral. The cathedral is located in the Old Town of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. It is a typical Russian Revival church.

Cathedral is designed in a typical Russian Revival style and built between 1894 and 1900 when the country was part of the Russian Empire. It is Tallinn's largest and grandest orthodox cupola cathedral.No photo taking inside the church and is far too big to take the whole picture . when you are near . is easily located just outside the old town . one can see the black roof from a far . entrance fee is needed to enter the church .

Located on the other side of Toompea is the famous Tallinn Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Compared with the simple-looking Cathedral of Our Lady of Tallinn, it has a red and white exterior wall and a dark gray onion head shape. The typical Russian style is more conspicuous. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is the largest and tallest domed Orthodox Church in Tallinn.

It is very close to Lenin Pier, which is just a little bit north. The architecture of the church is quite unique and is most famous in Yalta, Crimea. Alexander Nevsky, the leader of the Russians in the 13th century, was called the Hero of the Neva River for defeating the Swedes on the Neva River.

At the southern end of the old city, the brightly colored Orthodox church style is beautiful, no matter what angle you take.
