The Confucius Temple was originally built in the Song Dynasty to commemorate Confucius. It is located beside Gongyuan Street on the north bank of Qinhuai River. However the temple was destroyed and rebuilt several times. The current temple was rebuilt in 1987 after it was destroyed by Japanese Aggressors during WWII. Wuhou Temple commemorates Zhuge Liang, the prime minister of the Shu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms Period.
