The Church of St. Lazarus is the best-preserved church in Larnaca. It has been more than 800 years of history. The architectural style of the church is full of Byzantine characteristics. The church of St. Lazarus is located in the center of Larnaca, built in the tenth century during the Byzantine emperor Leo VI, the church was completely stone-built, with a complex structure, it has three halls, the original three domes have been damaged, and the bell tower was reconstructed in the nineteenth century. The church is buried in the basement of the tomb of St. Lazarus, who came to Cyprus in 33 AD to become the first bishop and patron saint here. The church is now built on the remains of the two earlier churches.
