Albula-Bernina express, RhB Review

The journey from Chur (Switzerland) to Tirano (Italy) and back to Chur will take almost the whole day. I’d consider this as one of the most beautiful scenic trains in the world. Bernina Express will not disappoint you. Lifetime experience indeed.

Bernina Express - took half a day to experience this railway sightseeing line that was included in the World Heritage Site. It was a variety of climate change along the way, sometimes with sunny suns, sometimes with rain and fog. There were snowy mountains, lakes, grasslands, and the most amazing was the ice lake at the highest altitude. Travel time always flies.

Bernina express was my Swiss trip highlight back in Nov 2019. From Zurich we headed to Chur. During winter, train terminates in Tirano (Italy) and not Lugano. the journey from Chur-Tirano-Chur) took a whole day. Free ride using Swiss travel pass but really worth it to pay extra for panoramic train (Chur-Tirano leg)

was blessed with a clear sky when I took the train. got the chance to see the great beauty that Mother Nature have gave us! Bernina is definitely befitting of the title of Europe’s most famous little red train. I’m so Glad that I got myself a train ticket even though I find it a bit pricey.

The Bernina Express landscape train is from Kurr, Switzerland to Tirano, Italy. Take the mountaineering train to see the shaking from the blue sky and green to the snow. The weather changes suddenly with the fluctuations of the altitude. You can see the spectacular mountains, pleasant lake views and amazing snow scenes at a time. It is highly recommended. Five railways are currently listed as one of the world heritage sites.

The Bernina train links Chur in central Switzerland and northern Italy, where the Chur to Tirano is linked by the Bernina Express and the Panorama train (only running in winter), while the Tirano to Lugano is connected by the Bernina bus. Both the train and the bus need to be strong. Picturesque, needless to say, the panoramic train scenery in winter is as shown in the picture above, as in a fairyland, summer green grass, green mountains, lakes picturesque scenery is not inferior. The trains easily cross 55 tunnels, 196 bridges and slopes up to 70[%], and the Tusis to Tirano section is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, known as the “Railway of Retiria” because of its dangerous nature. More famous is the 360-degree turn Brucio Spiral Railway Bridge, which is the peak of the construction technology of the Bernina railway bridge, and the slope slope of the construction process needs to be overcome by 7[%]. Bernina Viewpoint: 1. The Delangisa viaduct : The viaduct in Bergin spans the Landesa Canyon and extends directly to the mountain tunnel. The three main piers built in 1901/02 are a real architectural masterpiece. Please note: it is built using two cranes and no scaffolding. The spectacular symbol of the Retija Railway is world famous. 3. Osbyzio-Bernina Station (Ospizio Bernian): It is the highest point of the entire line - 2,2503 meters above sea level. The waiting room and the alpine inn were built in 1925. There is an orange railway overhaul car parked next to the station. It is also the dividing line of the Swiss language area. The southern valley of Puschlav is Italian, and the northern Engadin region is Latin Roman and German.

To Switzerland, take the Bernina Express, remember to choose the front or tail end of the carriage, and you can see the red carriages dragging on the font track. The train sits smoothly and quickly. The scenery along the way is beautiful and changing. Every moment there is a beautiful scenery. The shutter that keeps people from stopping the camera.
