Asian Art Museum Review

It is a beautiful museum with a wide variety of Asian art. I came to this museum for the third time (three different trips), and I especially liked the regular exhibitions and the special exhibitions each time. If you visit in autumn 2019, you can only visit part of the museum because the second floor is under maintenance, but there are still many exhibitions worth seeing.

With so many museums in San Francisco, it’s easy to overlook this one, and it’s definitely worth a visit! Everything about it is encouraging! The architecture is gorgeous (now being renovated) and there are exquisite exhibits. The tranquility of the room is amazing. We went to see a special exhibition: "Japanese tattoo/printing" which was eye-opening and wonderful. I often go to the Asian Art Museum just to have lunch at the cafe. Sitting outside is a pleasure. The gift shop is impressive and perfect for buying gifts. Highly recommend to everyone.

It takes a while to come to the art museum from the city hall. It shows a lot of Asian art works. Of course, a considerable part of it is Chinese cultural relics. It is especially worth visiting.

The Asian Art Museum is much larger than we thought, located in the heart of San Francisco City, a building that blends classical and modern design elements. It has more than 18,000 collections, of which the boutiques are very rare, with deep historical significance and cultural influence, representing the vastness and depth of the collection. Unfortunately, when we came, the exhibition area on the third floor was all closed, but the exhibits in China, Japan, South Korea and other regions on display have made people feel worthwhile. When you come, pay attention to the opening time, Monday is closed.

There are three floors of exhibition halls, the second and third floors are fixed exhibitions, and various art boutiques in various regions of Asia are really beautiful. The first floor is a special exhibition hall. From the end of May this year, there are exquisite cultural relics of the royal tombs of the Western Han Dynasty in China. There are complete coffins, world-famous gold wisps, bronze ceremonies and musical instruments, and warrior armor and jade tools from 2,000 years ago.
