Baalbek, considered Lebanon's most visited tunnel, is the world's largest ancient Roman ruins. Located in the northeastern valley of Beirut, more than 80 kilometers from Beirut. The temple was built more than 2,000 years ago by the Phoenicians to sacrifice the sun god Baal. During the Roman Empire, Emperor Augustus expanded it and later became a large religious complex dedicated to the gods Jupiter, Bacchus, and Venus.
