The Temple of Baalbek is the most famous monument in Lebanon, located nearly 100 kilometers northeast of Beirut, Lebanon's capital, about 1160 meters above sea level. More than 2,000 years ago, the Romans built a huge religious complex and became one of the sacrifice centers of the time.
