Nice has nearly 10 kilometers of beaches, stretching along the curving Bay of Angels. The beaches are comprised of pebbles, not sand. These sizable “galets” are not jogger (or even walker) friendly, but the people of Nice love them. For strolling, there is the Promenade des Anglais, which runs along the bay, beside the beaches. Beau Rivage (Beautiful Shore) Beach, in the heart of the prom, has it all: watersports (at Nikaia Glisse center), good swimming (with no drastic drop-off), and one of Nice’s best waterside restaurants (Beau Rivage Beach Restaurant).
