Cross over the Ponte Vecchio and head to the Pitti Palace, go beyond the palace to the entry to the garden (shorter lines and 1 euro) There you will find beauty in every direction. Walk amongst the flowers, fountains, and statues. Sit and feel the sun on your face. Take a breath and soak in the peace in the midst of a busy city.

Lovely, lovely, lovely!!! They were (thankfully) nearly deserted when I visited and I enjoyed the beautiful vistas out over Firenze.
