We were so impressed by the orangutan center across the road that we went to the Sun Bear Conservation Center. After seeing countless orangutans, we saw three bears, like us, struggling to escape the heat! More exciting, we saw two pythons up close, parked on a tree next to the boardwalk. On our way out of the center, an adult orangutan walked in front of us without incident. It even posed for pictures! Wow, this is a lifelong experience! If you are going to the Sipchori orangutan Conservation Center, I totally recommend going to see the Borneo Sun Bear. The bear is well taken care of. You don’t need to stay here for a long time. There are tips and HD videos. Probably not more than an hour.

Bears and monkeys are great attractions. Especially when bears climb up to 40 feet of trees. The aim is to return bears to the wild, and talking to any worker will show their concern for bears. Because of their short stature, they have become victims of the pet trade, and the center is doing its best to reduce the damage.

This Sun Bear Censervation Centre place is like a rehabilitation and research centre in order to protect and improvise their species. It's sad to see most of them being killed long time ago for their skin or any valueable parts to be sell as a fossil items. They are known to be temporarily closed for any visits.

The BSBCC was established as a non-profit organisation in Sabah in 2008. The OrangUtan Rehabilitation Centre is just around the corner.
