Parts of the shopping center are designed like indoor alleys and have a variety of department stores and shops. This is the center of the buskers. We are happy that the Bourke Street between Swanston and Elizabeth Street is empty except for the tram. It is dangerous to stay in the middle of the street for long periods of time, fearing sudden car traffic.
