The steel suspension is very complicated, unlike today's rotary bridge, only cable-stayed, this bridge has many horizontal connections, it looks very industrial, the pier is brick facade, relatively simple. There is enough space for pedestrians, including the position in the middle of the bridge.

This is a classic vacation activity for an afternoon in NYC. Take the subway to DUMBO in Brooklyn for iconic photo ops before walking across the bridge into Manhattan.

The Brooklyn Bridge is a cable suspension bridge in New York City, crossing the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn. It open in 1883 and at the time was the longest suspension bridge in the world. Now it is a historic landmark and you can learn about the history whilst crossing the bridge. Vehicles and bicycles also cross the bridge in lanes under the pedestrian crossing. You can get to the bridge by ferry to DUMBO or from the Manhattan side by metro to City Hall.

A nice Brooklyn Bridge walk and view from the bridge. We had a nice walk there and took a number of nice photos. Super nice weather.

This is a view of Manhattan’s downtown, while on the way to the Brooklyn Bridge. Brooklyn Bridge is the pinnacle of construction engineering.

Great stroll and views, at every time of the day and every season of the year. undeniably photogenic but also often over crowded. Bring water and patience and you’ll have a grand time.
