I really just walked by it but the Royal Palace definitely caught my eye. What I noticed were the extremely well manicured hedges and gardens in the front, which had a Versailles-in-miniature feel. Across the street is the park and so the whole assemblage is pleasing to the eye. The Belgian Royal family is not well known to most people but there are two kings of note: Leopold II, who is infamous for his conduct in the Belgian Congo and his successor, Albert I, the hero of World War One who stood up to the Germans and fought vigorously through the war for his country.

Not always open to the public, when it is, it is beautiful on the inside. The most amazing room to me was one where the ceiling was decorated with iridescent green insects

We couldn't get into the palace, but the view from outside and the pictures look amazing. Highly recommend a visit to this place.

Magnificent and very impressive place, very interestong decision with a garden around. And I was lucky - the King was at home, cos the flag was waiving :)

An awesome palace!Something you should really visit, only opens for three weeks a year. So plan good - you shouldn't miss it! Photographers should come earlier, it's always really packed...
