The museum houses important transportation artifacts throughout the country, including two of the three handrails from the earliest to the 1900s. Learn about the colorful history of the public service system and marvel at the machinery in the old cable-rolling room or climb one of the old handrails. The museum is located on the former site of the cable car roll room, just steps from the upper end, and close to the panoramic view of Wellington.
