Lovely place with a great 360 view on the city of Edinburgh down below. From one side you can see the Edinburgh castle and the Balmoral hotel, then if you keep turning on the left you can admire Arthur Seat in all of its glory. And you can spot the sea behind it.If you keep turning you can see up to Leith, the shore and then the all Firth of Forth. On sunny days you can see the isle of Inchkeith. And you can even spot the other side of the Forth Bridges.I would definitely suggest to come during the day and a second time to watch the sun set behind the castle. If you come on the 30 of April (with a ticket) you can witness the Beltane Fire Festival. A pagan celebration of the death of winter and the coming of spring/summer

Walk east along Princes Street to the end and you will reach the lush Carlton Hill. Standing on the top of the hill, Edinburgh Castle stands out, guarding the quiet town, the scenery is very beautiful. Looking east, you can see the blue Atlantic Ocean and the white sails on Forth Bay. When the wind is beautiful, locals can always be seen coming to Carlton Hill in groups, picnicking and sunbathing on the lawn.

We continued our sightseeing along Prince Street to Carlton Hill. In addition to the city's scenery, there are several buildings on the top of the mountain that can be called scenic spots but not charged. Among them is the National Memorial Hall, which is said to be built in memory of the soldiers killed in the Napoleonic War. This Greek Parthenon-like building was built in 1826, but it was not completed. Now only a row of huge pillars supporting the beams can be seen. The reason is that there is not enough money to raise, and now it is like "uncompleted project" staying at the top of Carlton Hill. Next to it is the Nelson Memorial Tower, which allows you to view Edinburgh downtown from the top, but requires a 5 pound ticket. On the top of the hill is the memorial Pavilion of the Scottish philosopher Dugard Stewart. Several stone pillars are beautifully shaped with domes, but they are surrounded by weeds. There is also a striking dome nearby, the Edinburgh Municipal Observatory, which is not open inside.

A group of people went to Calton Hill in Carlton Hill to watch the sunset. Only by walking along the streets and lanes can we notice that the streets in Edinburgh were originally paved with very old stones, and there were many unknown wildflowers blooming along the roadside. It took about half an hour to climb to the top of the mountain and find that the sunset was still some time away, but it was beautiful at that time. The whole city of Edinburgh has a panoramic view. The sea is shimmering with golden sunlight, and there are very strong blue skies and white clouds. The picky sons are always full of praise for their faces. Next to it is a building that resembles the ruins of the Parthenon in Greece. On the Internet, it is said that it was in memory of the soldiers who died in Napoleon's war, but later the budget was insufficient, only built a few pillars with beams, known as the rotten tail monument. In my opinion, it is also a landscape. Someone next to him took a UAV and hovered over it. He was curious about what he had in his camera and whether there would be our hands waving in the air in the later edition. Looking in the other direction of Carlton Hill is a mountain with beautiful alpine meadows, unknown, but pleasant. There was a couple sitting on the bench in silence, I secretly photographed the world behind the scenery.
