The new castle near the port, also known as Castel Nuovo, was built by the first king of the Naples Kingdom. It was the residence of the Angevans who ruled it at that time and rebuilt by the Aragons in the 15th century. The four cylindrical towers on the wall and the moat around them are typical French castle style. The entrance is in the form of the Arc de Triomphe built to commemorate the entry of Avonso I into the city. The castle now has a small museum with tickets of 6 euros, collecting oil paintings depicting the history of the city. Unfortunately, the cloth is not open, so we can only visit it in the hall.
