CCTV headquarters building, located in Beijing Business Center, contains CCTV headquarters building, TV culture center, service building and celebration square. Designed by Dutch Rem & Koolhaas and German Aure & Sheren, Metropolitan Architecture Office (OMA). The building of CCTV headquarters is avant-garde in shape. It was selected as the top ten architectural wonders of the world in 2007 by Time of the United States. It is juxtaposed with the contemporary Universal City of Beijing and the National Stadium. CCTV headquarters has climbed to nearly 20 billion yuan from its initial project budget of 5 billion yuan. And the design fees paid to the designer's Metropolitan Architecture Firm are as high as 350 million yuan per square metre, with an average of 630 yuan per square metre. Among them, the north building was seriously burned in the fire of the Lantern Festival on February 9, 2009. The restoration work started at the end of October 2009 and has been successfully accepted after completion. On June 5, 2012, CCTV Sports Channel took the lead in relocating to the new site of the East Third Ring Road and broadcasting the London Olympic Games at the new site. CCTV's new building won the highest award, the world's best high-rise building award. In April 2014, China's top ten contemporary building evaluation committees evaluated 20 buildings from more than 1,000 landmark buildings in China, synthesizing four indicators of age, scale, artistry and influence. Eventually, ten contemporary buildings emerged. CCTV headquarters building is one of the first selected buildings.
