Ciyun Temple, located on the Lion Rock of Xuantan Temple in Nan'an District, Chongqing, is a national key monastery and is now managed and used by the Buddhist community. The temple was founded in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the 22nd year of Qing Qianlong (1757), the first name of Guanyin Temple, the Yunyan Master raised funds to expand in 1927, and the name was changed to Ciyun Temple, which was the only Buddhist monastery in the country at that time. The existing Buddhist buildings in the temple include 18 pavilions, Grand Hall, Puxian Hall, Six Shu Temple, Guanyin Hall, Weituo Temple, Qianshou Guanyin Hall, Ancient Buddha Cave, etc., most of which were built in the Tang Dynasty and last repaired in 1936.
