The former site of the German Consulate in Beihai is located in the compound of Nanzhu Hotel (now renamed Yinrui Hotel) at No. 6 Beibuwan Middle Road, Beihai City, Guangxi. Germany established the consulate in the Beihai in 1886 and withdrew in 1908, which lasted 23 years. The German Consulate office building was built in 1905. Before the construction of the Consulate, the German Consulate entrusted the British Consulate to act as an agent. In 1902, the German Consulate sent the Consulate to the North Sea and temporarily borrowed the office of the Tax Department. After the completion of the office building in 1905, it moved to the new office and acted as the consular affairs of Hainan. In 1908, the German consular agency withdrew, and the house of the museum was sold to others. It is now used by the Beihai Industrial and Commercial Bank as an office building. In 2001, the State Council announced it as a key cultural relics protection unit in the country, and it is an important physical evidence for the establishment of a German consulate in the North Sea.
