Chengdu Daci Temple was built between the 3rd and 4th centuries AD and is known as the "First Jungle of Sindan" (Sindan is an old Indian term for China, and the jungle refers to the place where monks live). It is recorded that Xuanzhao, a famous monk in the Tang Dynasty, was shaved and given up as a monk in 622 AD. Tang Xuanzong once gave the "Yuan Jian Dasheng Ci Temple". Daci Temple has been destroyed many times in the military fires, and now many temples here are rebuilt one after another during the Qing Shunzhi to Tongzhi period. Due to its geographical location, Daci Temple has become an ancient temple surrounded by secular fireworks.
